赵穗生，现任美国丹佛大学约瑟夫·科贝尔国际关系学院终身教授兼美中合作中心主任，哈佛大学费正清中心研究员，美中关系全国委员会委员，英文《当代中国》双月刊（收录SSCI，影响因子2021为3.748）创始人与主编，曾任美国斯坦福大学胡佛研究所国家研究员，马里兰州华盛顿学院政治系副教授，缅因州柯尔比学院政府系助理教授、副教授，亚太安全合作理事会美国委员会董事会董事。
赵穗生教授拥有美国加州大学政治学博士和硕士学位、密苏里大学社会学硕士学位，以及北京大学经济学学士和硕士学位。赵穗生教授出版了二十余部英文著作，包括《权力的设计》《民族国家的构建》《东亚权争》等。他的最新著作《巨龙呼啸归来：变革型领袖与中国外交的变迁》（斯坦福大学出版社）荣获《外交事务》杂志2024最佳著作奖。他的100多篇英文学术与政策论文发表于《华盛顿季刊》《威尔逊季刊》《政治学季刊》《中国季刊》《当代中国》等。

On August 18, Professor Suisheng ZHAO, tenured Professor and Director of the Center for China-US Cooperation at Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs at the University of Denver, and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Contemporary China, will join the 19th session of the US Series under the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China (RDCY) Forum for Area Studies, for a dialogue with Professor WANG Wen, Dean of the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies and the School of Global Leadership, Renmin University of China. on the theme “Major Power Competition Between China and the U.S.: From Trump 1.0 to 2.0.”The event agenda is as follows:

Panelist Biography
Suisheng ZHAOis a tenured Professor and Director of the Center for China-US Cooperation at Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs, University of Denver. He is also a Research Associate at the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies at Harvard University, a member of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, and the founder and editor of theJournal of Contemporary China(SSCI-indexed, 2021 Impact Factor: 3.748). Heserved as a Campbell National Fellow at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University, and was Associate Professor of Political Science and International Studies at Washington College in Maryland, Associate Professor of Government and East Asian Politics at Colby College in Maine. He has also served on the board of the U.S. Committee of the Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific.
Professor Zhao holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California–San Diego, an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Missouri, and a B.A. and M.A. in Economics from Peking University.He has authored and edited over twenty books, including Power by DesignA Nation-State by Construction, andPower Competition in East Asia. His most recent book,The Dragon Roars Back: Transformational Leaders and Dynamics of Chinese Foreign Policy(Stanford University Press),was named one of “Best of Books 2024” byForeign Affairsmagazine. He has published over one hundred academic and policy articles in journals such asThe Washington Quarterly, The Wilson Quarterly, Political Science Quarterly, The China Quarterly, and Journal of Contemporary China.
