So why is this happening and what's going on?

In the UK, local councils are responsible for arranging bin workers to collect rubbish from outside our homes.

Birmingham City Council have decided to make changes to the way their bin service is run, which some of the city's bin workers are really unhappy about.

A union that represents some of the bin workers, called Unite, say that many workers will lose money from their pay because of the council's changes.

We spoke to BBC teams in the area to find out what the situation is like now and they told us it's different from area to area of Birmingham.

The council has increased collections to help with the rubbish that was piled up on the side of the streets and people with access to cars have been taking their rubbish to a local tip.

Unite, the union who represent the striking bin workers, and Birmingham City Council have been in talks for a number of weeks now, but neither side has come to an agreement on the situation so far.

Unite told us, Refused workers in Birmingham are striking to protect their pay after the council decided to cut workers' pay by up to a quarter.
