AI-Driven Job Creation
Roles like Algorithm Engineers, Large Model Specialists, and AI Product Managers—once barely known just a few years ago—have now become "hot commodities" in the job market. The global employment landscape is being profoundly reshaped by artificial intelligence. From China to the rest of the world, AI brings not only technological breakthroughs but also unprecedented-scale new employment opportunities. Data shows that by 2025, the number of global AI-related job vacancies had reached 3.8 million, with an average annual growth rate of 31% compared to 2.2 million in 2023. In China, the gap in AI-related talent has exceeded 5 million, with a supply-demand ratio of 1:10, and the associated employment ecosystem is expanding at an accelerated pace.
The AI talent market witnessed explosive growth in 2025. According to Maimai's 2025 AI Talent Mobility Report, the number of newly posted AI jobs from January to July surged by over 10 times year-on-year, and resume submissions also jumped by 11 times. More than 1,000 enterprises posted 72,000 relevant positions on the platform, covering diverse entities such as major internet companies, automobile manufacturers, and AI vertical enterprises. Algorithm-related positions became the core demand, accounting for more than half of the top 20 in-demand positions. "Large Model Algorithms" ranked first with a recruitment index of 94.16, and the supply-demand ratio for "Search Algorithm" talents was only 0.39, meaning 5 positions competed for 2 talents.
The accelerated AI transformation of enterprises has driven a continuous rise in job penetration. The AI penetration rate of newly posted jobs in the new economy industry has exceeded 10%, an increase of more than 10 times compared to the same period last year, and larger enterprises have made more active investments. ByteDance, Xiaohongshu, and Alibaba ranked among the top three enterprises with the most active recruitment. Salary levels have also risen simultaneously: the average monthly salary for AI positions reached 61,475 yuan, with positions at companies like Microsoft and Alibaba Pingtouge offering monthly salaries exceeding 85,000 yuan, and the monthly salary for "AI Scientist/Head" positions even surpassed 130,000 yuan.
Baidu's 2026 campus recruitment layout is quite representative. It released over 200 types of AI-related positions, accounting for more than 90% of the 4,000 campus recruitment offers, covering the entire technical architecture of computing power, frameworks, models, and applications. Behind this lies the strong growth of Baidu's AI business—its Q2 financial report showed that the revenue from new AI businesses exceeded 10 billion yuan for the first time, and the Wenxin Think Model even topped international rankings, confirming the positive cycle between technological development and talent demand.
The expansion of employment opportunities has extended beyond pure technical fields. In the first half of 2025, the number of non-technical AI positions increased by 7.74 times year-on-year, with product management, operations, and design becoming the three most in-demand directions. From AI Trainers on e-commerce platforms to AI-assisted technicians in the medical field, from Intelligent Equipment Maintenance Engineers in manufacturing to AI Document Analysts in the legal industry, AI is becoming a fundamental technology penetrating all sectors of the economy—just like computers and the internet once were—spawning a large number of compound positions that combine "technology + industry".
Young talents have become the core resource sought after in the market. Among entry-level positions for fresh graduates, those with a monthly salary of 50,000-80,000 yuan accounted for 42.66%, and positions with ultra-high salaries of over 80,000 yuan per month accounted for 14.68%, meaning 1 out of every 7 entry-level positions for fresh graduates offered an "annual salary of one million yuan". However, high returns come with high mobility: the average tenure of AI talents is only 2.02 years, and 62.99% plan to change jobs within a year, highlighting the vitality of this field.
From a global perspective, the driving effect of AI on employment continues to emerge. The World Economic Forum predicts that by 2030, AI will create 11 million jobs, resulting in a net increase of approximately 2 million employment opportunities. In China, data from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security shows that each new AI occupation can drive employment for 300,000 to 500,000 people, and human-machine collaboration is becoming the mainstream model.
In the wave of technological revolution, AI has never been a "replacement" for employment, but an "empowerer". From 3.8 million global positions to the million-level talent gap in China, these figures represent the upgrading and renewal of the employment structure. For workers who proactively embrace change, the opportunities in the AI era far outweigh the challenges.
