On September 23rd, 2025, the "Chang'an Elegant Gathering | The Wind Rises in Chang'an, The Swallow'sShadow Carries Its Charm" Zhayan-Kite Art Event was successfully held at the cultural space of Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center.The event specially invited Yang Liping, MunicipalRepresentative Inheritor of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Project of Kite-Making Techniques (Beijing Zhayan-Kite Making Technique), and Zhang Chonggao, Vice President of International Kite Federation and Director of the Cultural Promotion Committee. They explored the Eastern aesthetics, sharing kites'roleas "Cultural Emissaries" in promoting the international communicationof outstanding traditional Chinese culture. Liviu Taranu, Director of Romanian Cultural Institute in Beijing, and other guests participated in this event.

活动现场，杨利平系统解析了扎燕风筝“扎、糊、绘、放”四大制作环节，并生动阐述了肥燕、瘦燕、半瘦燕、比翼燕、小燕、雏燕六类燕形的象征寓意与文化内涵。他结合自身经历，分享了多年来扎燕风筝在技艺创新与跨界合作方面的实践，如与品牌联名、参与“文商旅体展”融合项目等，让传统风筝焕发当代生命力。

At the event, Yang Liping systematically analyzed the four key steps of Zhayan-Kite production—"Tying, Pasting, Painting, Flying"—and vividly explained the symbolic meanings and cultural connotations of the six swallow forms: Plump Swallow, Slim Swallow, Half-Slim Swallow, Paired Swallow, Little Swallow,and Baby Swallow. Combining his personal experiences, he shared years of practice in techniques innovation and boundaries-breakingthrough crossover collaboration for Zhayan-Kites, such as brand collaboration and participation in integrated projects combining "culture, commerce, tourism, sports, and exhibitions",infusing traditional kites with contemporary vitality.

张崇高从风筝文化的国际传播角度，通过数据与案例，展现了中国风筝从“文化输出”到“文化共鸣”的全球传播图景。他深入剖析海外受众对中国风筝技艺、美学与哲学的兴趣所在，并探讨了风筝在跨文化交流中的创新实践，如参与式体验设计、形态设计的跨文化适配等，为传统文化的当代传播提供了新思路。

Zhang Chonggao, from the perspective of international communicationof kiteculture, presented a global communication landscapeof Chinese kites evolving from "cultural export" to "cultural resonance" through data and case studies. He deeply analyzedthe interests of overseas audiences in Chinese kite techniques, aesthetics, and philosophy, and explored innovative practices in cross-cultural exchanges, such as participatory experience design and cross-cultural adaptation of form design, offering new ideas for the contemporary communicationof traditional culture.

扎燕风筝的纹样设计深植传统吉祥寓意，这些跨越千年的符号被现代人用不同的色彩赋予了更丰富、鲜明的个性。活动现场特设扎燕风筝上色体验环节，嘉宾们在杨利平老师的指导下，为扎燕风筝上色，完成独具个人风格的风筝作品。这一过程不仅是个体的创作，更是“形色意合”的东方美学对话——传统纹样在色彩的碰撞中焕发新生，个人风格在吉祥纹样的框架内自由生长。

The pattern designs of Zhayan-Kites are deeply rooted in traditional auspicious symbolism, with these millennialsymbols revitalized by modern people using variouscolors to express richer and more distinct personalities. The event featured a hands-on kite coloring session, where guests, under Yang Liping's guidance, added color to Swallow Kites, creating unique works reflecting their personal styles. This process was not only an individual creative endeavor but also a dialogue of Eastern aesthetics where "form, color, and meaning converge"—traditional patterns were revitalized through color clashes, while personal styles flourished within the framework of auspicious motifs.

长安雅集与杨利平共同推出扎燕风筝作品展，集中展出近30件代表作，包括《福寿燕》《金玉满堂》《蝉福齐天》等。展览中，“大小成趣”的对比尤为引人注目——最大尺寸作品《比翼燕·蛱蝶寻芳》宽3米，高1.6米；最小尺寸作品《肥燕·福寿双全》宽仅0.15米，高0.15米，以精致的细节彰显匠人的巧思。这些作品均融合传统纹样、文学意象与哲学思考，在“形、色、意”三境中展现出扎燕风筝的完整美学体系，构筑了一个可触、可感、可品的东方美学空间。展览还设置了“世界风筝文化”板块，展现风筝作为人类共同文化符号在全球不同文明中的多样表达与深层寓意。

Chang'an Elegant Gathering and Yang Liping jointly launched theZhayan-Kite artistic exhibition, showcasing nearly 30 representative creations, including "Swallow of Blessing and Longevity," "Abundance of Wealth and Knowledge," and "Cicada' Blessings are as vast asSky." The exhibition highlighted a striking contrast in scales—the largest piece, "Paired Swallow·Nymphalid Butterflies in Fragrance Pursuit," measures 3 meters in width and 1.6 meters in height, while the smallest, "Plump Swallow·Good Blessing and Long Life," is only 0.15 meters in both width and height, demonstrating exquisite craftsmanship through intricate details. These works blend traditional patterns, literary imagery, and philosophical contemplation, showcasing the complete aesthetic system of Zhayan-Kites across "Form, Color, and Meaning," and creating a tangible, perceptible, and appreciable space of Eastern aesthetics. Moreover, the exhibition also featured a "World Kite Culture" section, displaying kites as a shared cultural symbol of humanity, with variousexpressions and profound meanings across global civilizations.
