(Mind Mapping)
(Intensive reading content)
(Research Background and Problem Statement)
Currently, the development of the digital content industry, including online literature, music, and video, is severely hindered by rampant piracy. Traditional copyright protection models, due to their high difficulty in rights confirmation, evidence collection, and proof presentation, as well as lengthy litigation cycles, result in exorbitant costs for rights protection. Meanwhile, the benefits derived from such protection are minimal, creating a severe imbalance between costs and benefits that significantly diminishes copyright owners' willingness to pursue legal remedies. Therefore, finding effective ways to substantially reduce copyright protection costs has become a pressing core issue that needs to be addressed.
(Solution: blockchain technology)
Blockchain technology, with its decentralized, immutable, and traceable characteristics, offers new possibilities for solving this dilemma. It demonstrates significant advantages in copyright registration and evidence preservation, enabling the cost of each copyright registration to be drastically reduced from traditionally thousands of yuan to extremely low levels, and facilitating efficient, large-scale collection of electronic evidence. However, introducing blockchain technology itself requires substantial investment in research and development as well as equipment procurement. This raises a critical business consideration: Can the cost savings in copyright protection sufficiently cover the initial blockchain investment? The answer to this question directly determines whether enterprises will be motivated to adopt this technology.
(Research Scenario and Core Research Questions)
This study is grounded in a digital publishing supply chain consisting of publishers, sales platforms, and consumers. The platform is not only responsible for selling digital products but also undertakes the responsibility of providing copyright protection services. This research aims to explore several core questions: How will the profitability of each party in the supply chain change when the platform chooses to invest in blockchain to strengthen copyright protection? Under what conditions will the platform make the investment decision? If investing in blockchain inadvertently harms the platform's own interests, how can reasonable contracts (such as revenue-sharing and cost-sharing agreements) be designed to coordinate the interests between publishers and the platform, ultimately incentivizing the platform to take action and achieve overall supply chain optimization.
(Literature Review)
In recent years, research on digital copyright protection has primarily focused on legal regulations or technological implementations, with relatively few studies employing quantitative analysis through mathematical models, especially those delving deeply into the economic perspective of "blockchain reducing copyright protection costs." The innovation of this paper lies in its application of game theory methods to analyze not only the cost-saving effects of blockchain technology and its impact on the markets for genuine and pirated consumer goods but also the interest coordination mechanisms among supply chain members. It aims to provide rigorous theoretical foundations and practical management insights for enterprises' relevant investment decisions.
(Research Methodology of This Paper)
It is explicitly stated that game theory methods will be employed to construct models, as the consensus mechanism of blockchain itself constitutes a form of game, making it highly suitable for studying the strategic behaviors of decision-making entities within the supply chain.
