In 2024, Guangdong's foreign trade scale reached a new historical high, with the annual import and export volume exceeding 9 trillion yuan for the first time, reaching 9.11 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%. This growth significantly outpaced the national average of 5%, contributing 38.7% to the national growth and accounting for 20.8% of the country's total foreign trade. This achievement demonstrates the strong development resilience and vitality of Guangdong's foreign trade, fully reflecting the responsibility of an economic powerhouse.

In terms of trade modes, the structure has been continuously optimized. General trade imports and exports amounted to 5.3 trillion yuan, growing by 10.9% and accounting for 58.2% of the total, an increase of 0.6 percentage points. Processing trade imports and exports, however, saw a decline, amounting to 1.94 trillion yuan.
The business entities are full of vitality, with 146,000 enterprises having actual import and export performance, an increase of 11.6% year-on-year. Private enterprises stand out, with 123,000 in number, growing by 13.2%, and their import and export value increased by 15.2%, raising their share to 63.6%.

Traditional markets remain stable, and the development of new markets has been notably effective. In 2024, Guangdong's top five trading partners were ASEAN, Hong Kong SAR in China, the United States, the European Union, and Chinese Taiwan, with positive growth in imports and exports to each, increasing by 8%, 9.9%, 7.6%, 7%, and 17.8% respectively. Concurrently, imports and exports to the 17 Middle Eastern countries grew by 8.8%, to Latin America by 16.7%, and to the five Central Asian countries by 40.3%. Additionally, imports and exports to countries involved in the "Belt and Road" initiative increased by 9.4%, accounting for 38% of Guangdong's total import and export value.

In terms of exports, new momentum keeps emerging. The export of mechanical and electrical products reached 3.87 trillion yuan, growing by 8.8%. Main goods achieved rapid growth, including automatic data processing equipment and its parts, as well as emerging products like containers. The export of labor-intensive products remained essentially the same as the previous year.
In terms of imports, the potential continues to be released. The import of mechanical and electrical products increased by 18.4%, with significant increases in the import value of key products such as integrated circuits, automatic data processing equipment, and its parts. In addition, the import volume of grains and energy products such as coal, crude oil, and natural gas, also saw a notable increase.

2024年,广东外贸全年进出口规模首次站上9万亿元的新台阶,达9.11万亿元,同比增长9.8%,远超全国5%的增速,对全国增长贡献率达38.7%,占全国外贸20.8%。展现出较强的发展韧性和活力,充分体现了经济大省“挑大梁”的责任担当。
贸易方式上,结构持续优化。一般贸易进出口5.3万亿元,增长10.9%,占比达58.2%,提升0.6个百分点;加工贸易进出口1.94万亿元,有所下降。
经营主体活力十足,有进出口实绩的企业达14.6万家,同比增加11.6%。民营企业表现突出,数量达12.3万家,增长13.2%,进出口额增长15.2%,占比提升至63.6%。
传统市场表现稳固,新兴市场开拓成效显著。2024年,广东前5大贸易伙伴分别为东盟、中国香港、美国、欧盟和中国台湾,对其进出口均实现正增长,分别增长8%、9.9%、7.6%、7%和17.8%。同期,对中东17国进出口增长8.8%、拉美增长16.7%、中亚5国增长40.3%。此外,对共建“一带一路”国家进出口增长9.4%,占广东进出口总值的38%。
出口方面,动能不断涌现。机电产品出口3.87万亿元,增长8.8%,像自动数据处理设备及其零部件等主要商品和集装箱等新兴产品都实现了快速增长。而劳动密集型产品出口与上年基本持平。
进口领域,潜力持续释放。机电产品进口增长18.4%,集成电路、自动数据处理设备及其零部件等关键产品进口额大幅增加。同时,煤炭、原油、天然气等能源产品以及粮食的进口量也显著增加 。
