This year marks the 40th anniversary of Xiamen’s sister-city relationship with Baltimore, Maryland, USA. On October 28, the “I'll Be There for You”—2025 Xiamen International Friendship Concert, celebrating 40 years of Xiamen-Baltimore ties, was held at Xiamen Poly Theatre. The concert featured joint performances by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Quintet and the Xiamen Song and Dance Theatre Symphony Orchestra String Quartet. This marked the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s first China appearance in its century-long history. Artists performed masterpieces including Clarinet Quintet and Waves of Gulangyu, showcasing Sino-American friendship through music. Over 600 attendees included Baltimore delegates, foreign consuls in Xiamen, expatriates, honorary citizens, foreign experts, international faculty/students, and Xiamen residents.

今年是厦门市与美国马里兰州巴尔的摩市缔结国际友城关系40周年。10月28日，“乐连巴厦 情牵四秩”——2025厦门国际友好音乐会暨庆祝厦门—巴尔的摩结好40周年音乐会在厦门嘉庚剧院举办。音乐会由美国巴尔的摩交响乐团五重奏和厦门歌舞剧院交响乐团弦乐四重奏联袂演出。这是巴尔的摩交响乐团建团百余年来首度亮相中国。艺术家们联袂演奏《单簧管五重奏》、《鼓浪屿之波》等中外名曲，展现了中美人民友好的友谊乐章。巴尔的摩市代表、外国驻厦总领馆代表、在厦外籍友人、厦门市荣誉市民、外国专家、高校外籍师生和厦门市民代表逾600人观看音乐会。

On October 28, the Xiamen Artificial Intelligence Industry Investment Promotion Conference was successfully held in Shanghai. Over 60 enterprise representatives from the AI sector in the Yangtze River Delta region attended to explore industrial opportunities and collaborate on AI’s future. Centered on the theme “Shared Success, Shared Journey,” the event showcased Xiamen’s vast AI development potential, robust policy support, favorable investment environment, and diverse application scenarios. It established an efficient collaboration platform for enterprises across Xiamen and the Yangtze River Delta. Xiamen is rigorously implementing technological innovation initiatives, advancing industrial project development, and accelerating its “4+4+6” modern industrial system. Centered on industrial chain investment, it drives deep integration across innovation, industry, capital, and talent chains. AI is one of Xiamen’s six prioritized future industries. The city continues to bolster AI support to foster technological breakthroughs, industrial clusters, and ecosystem growth. Xiamen has formed a comprehensive industrial chain covering chips, computing infrastructure, algorithms, data, models, and end-user applications.

On October 28, Xiamen HansSunlit Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. (HansSunlit), located in the Torch (Xiang’an) Industrial Zone, commenced official operations, marking a critical addition to Xiamen’s Micro-LED full industrial chain. As China’s sole national optoelectronic flat-panel display cluster pilot zone, the Xiamen Torch Development Zone for High Technology Industries (XMTORCH) hosts industry leaders including Tianma Microelectronics and Nippon Electric Glass, building a complete ecosystem spanning materials, panels, modules and complete machines. HansSunlit’s establishment strengthens key equipment links in this chain, injecting new momentum into XMTORCH’s optoelectronic display industry.

On October 23, the winners of the 3rd "Su Song Cup" Future Industry Technology Innovation Competition were announced, with 38 high-caliber innovation projects securing top honors across three award categories: "Technology Star Award," "Entrepreneurship Pioneer Award," and "Talent Scout Award." The awards ceremony was held the same day at Xiamen Science City I Incubator. Focused on frontier domains of Future Information, Future Health, and Future Materials, the competition ultimately awarded four first-place prizes. Beyond substantial monetary rewards, winning projects will receive funding support from Su Song Cup partner funds, alongside comprehensive entrepreneurial services including mentorship, industry-finance matchmaking, and concept validation, ensuring full-spectrum backing for their establishment and rapid growth in Xiamen. Launched on June 17 this year, the competition attracted 1,059 submissions from 96 Chinese cities and 21 countries/regions, with the newly added BRICS Track targeting BRICS members, partner nations, and other emerging markets/developing economies.

10月23日，第三届“苏颂杯”未来产业技术创新赛获奖名单出炉，38个硬核项目在决赛中胜出，分别斩获“科技星耀奖”“创业先锋奖”和“创新潜力奖”三大奖项，颁奖仪式同日在厦门科学城I号孵化器举行。本次大赛聚焦未来信息、未来健康与未来材料三大前沿领域，最终四个项目荣获一等奖。这些获奖项目除丰厚赛事奖金外，还将获得“苏颂杯”合作基金加持，并享受创业辅导、产融对接、概念验证等，为项目在厦门落地生根、快速发展提供全方位保障。本届“苏颂杯”于今年6月17日启动，共吸引来自21个国家和地区（其中，国内有96个城市）的1059个项目报名，今年增设了金砖赛道，面向金砖成员国、伙伴国及其他新兴市场和发展中国家。
