Many of these games were developed by game developers in Guangzhou.
According to public data, domestic revenue from games on WeChat mini-programsreached 39.836 billion yuan in 2024. In August 2025, Guangzhou game developers had 22 titles on the "Top 100 Best-Selling WeChat Mini-Games", ranking first in Chinain terms of quantity. This underscores Guangzhou's position as one of the most vibrant cities in mini-game production.
Beyond their short development cycles and strong reach, the "money-making" potential of mini-games is equally remarkable. The hit title "Sheep A Sheep"required an initial investment of only 500,000 yuan, yet its revenue had exceeded 100 million yuan within six months of launch.
As a major hub of China's gaming industry, Guangzhou's gaming sector reached record-high revenue of 140.667 billion yuan in 2024, accounting for 43.2% of the national total and maintaining its position as China's leading gaming city. Among these achievements, Guangzhou's mini game market surpassed 15 billion yuan in 2024, with 28 companies making the list in the "2024 China Mini-Game Top 100 Enterprises Ranking", securing the highest number nationwide.

“别笑,你试你也过不了第二关”“屋顶漏了,快来帮帮我们吧”……从折螺丝到倒水瓶,这类洗脑式小游戏频频在社交媒体刷屏,成为玩家消磨碎片时间的新宠,其中有不少小游戏产品出自广州的游戏厂商。
公开数据显示,2024年国内小程序游戏收入达到398.36亿元。2025年8月《微信小游戏畅销榜百强榜》中,由广州游戏厂商发行的产品共有22款,数量位居全国第一。这意味着广州已经成为小游戏供给最活跃的城市之一。
除了开发周期短、触达能力强,小游戏的“吸金”能力也不容小觑。爆款小游戏《羊了个羊》的前期投入成本仅50万元,上线半年后营收就突破亿元。
作为中国游戏产业重镇,广州游戏产业营收规模在2024年达到1406.67亿元,创历史新高,占全国的43.2%,继续稳居“游戏第一城”。其中,广州小程序游戏全年营收突破150亿元,28家企业上榜《2024年中国小游戏百强企业榜单》,位居全国第一。
