As regards whether college students should own credit cards, there has been heated discussion among people: People who believe in its necessity think that owning a credit card can help those students who are in an emergency, and also it is a good way for college students to learn how to spend their money and how to be self-restrain!
However, some people are against the use of it. First and foremost, college students may squander their money when having a credit card, with which they may buy something unnecessary such as luxurious clothes or expensive mobile phones. What's more, they will increase the burden of their family. According to a recent survey conducted by Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, a high proportion of 45% of college students admit that they have credit-card debt. Parents have to afford the debt if their children cannot pay for it by themselves.
As for me, the point is not whether we should have a credit card or not, but as college students, we should maintain our traditional virtue of frugality. We should learn to spend our money in a wise way.
