Fame: good or evil?

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. It is my honor to be here and present my speech to you about fame.

They say a man's fame is priceless. Fame is the social evaluation of a person, reflecting personality and dignity. Fame can often be equated with how we treat strangers. Strangers are not familiar with each other, therefore, the impression of a person rides on his or her reputation. With a good reputation, it will be easier to get the kindness of others, social respect as well as some economic benefits.

But it just like soap bubbles which are fragile and unstable. There are serious consequences when people get too wrapped up in the satisfaction and financial benefits of fame.

Mother Teresa gave up her life as a nun and teacher to devote herself to the lives of the poor. For fifty years she treated the poor, clothed, fed and housed them. She earned the heartfelt respect and love of people. The Nobel Committee awarded her the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. However, she used the prize money to improve the lives of the poor, which greatly increased the social attention and support for the poor. More and more money collected into the hands of Mother Teresa, she could have easily took away with all the money, but she stayed true to her original intention and devoted herself to charity.

Generally , fame is not inherently bad, the only standard to define it is the ability to stick to your own heart. Hope you guys can stay positive, modest and keep going！
