As an internationalized school, Maple Bear strives to build global connections for students, allowing them to engage with leading minds of our time. Recently, teacher and student representatives of Maple Bear Elementary School had the opportunity to meet Dr. Edvard Moser, a Nobel laureate in Physiology or Medicine.

The Beginning: Curiosity is a Superpower

这场遇见恰逢开学季。见面之前，爱德华·莫泽博士为枫叶小熊的小学生们准备了一段视频和一份手写寄语，为孩子们传授着成为科学家的核心精神：

“好奇心是你们的超能力。永远不要停止问为什么。每一个小问题都是探索发现的种子。”

It began with a video message from Dr. Moser to the children:

A Celebration: Maple Bear Elementary School Welcomes its First Nobel Laureate Honorary Teacher

2025年9月7日上午，这份跨越山海的期许照进现实。在诺贝尔奖获得者医学峰会组委会秘书长、枫叶小熊小学荣誉校长吴炯院士的促成与引领下，枫叶小熊小学有幸聘请爱德华·莫泽博士成为学生们的“荣誉教师“，并由枫叶小熊教育集团董事长苏宇女士代表学校向爱德华·莫泽博士现场颁发聘书，定格下这难忘的瞬间。

Under the efforts of Academician Dr. Wu, Secretary-General of the World Nobel Laureate Biomedical Summit and the Honorary Principal of Maple Bear Elementary, the school was thrilled to appoint Dr. Moser an honorary teacher. Ms. Su, Chairwoman of Maple Bear Education Group, presented Dr. Moser with the official certificate of appointment—a special moment to be remembered.

此次见面，枫叶小熊小学生们有机会向爱德华·莫泽博士提问。而为了这场对话，师生们满怀敬畏与期待地做足准备：通过权威资料、科学平台等深入了解博士的研究成果，孩子们捧着精心打磨的问题，眼神里满是对未知的渴望，老师们亦难掩激动。这不仅是他们首次近距离接触诺奖得主，更是亲眼见证“顶尖科学智慧”与“基础教育初心”同频共振的珍贵时刻。

Students at Maple Bear Elementary School were treated to a unique educational experience when they had the opportunity to directly engage with Dr. Moser. In preparation for the event, students eagerly researched Dr. Moser’s work and came equipped with thoughtfully prepared questions. For many of the students, this marked their first encounter with a Nobel laureate. Beyond the excitement of meeting a world-renowned scientist, the event highlighted how cutting-edge science can meaningfully connect with everyday life.

"Some of these questions are so difficult that we still can't fully answer them."

The students listened attentively to Dr. Moser's answers and reflected on their own thinking. Thea, a fifth-grade student, summed up her learnings eloquently:

When I actually asked the questions, I felt like I was almost exploding because I thought I was going to get answers for everything, and I was really anticipating it. But also, I found out that science is actually developing, and we haven’t had very specific answers for anything yet, but also this is a good sign because it means our scientific researchers are still working on a lot of mysteries in the world. If we know everything, the world would be very boring, and we would have no surprises.

当我真正提出那些问题时，我感觉自己几乎要激动得沸腾起来。因为我原以为能获得所有问题的答案，内心充满了热切的期盼。然而我也意识到，科学实际上仍在不断发展中，我们对许多问题尚未得出非常确切的答案。但这其实是一个好迹象，因为这意味着我们的科研工作者仍在努力探索世界上众多的未解之谜。倘若我们已经知晓一切，这个世界将会变得了然无趣，再也不会有任何惊喜可言。

交流尾声，孩子们捧着自己最爱的书籍围向博士，请求签名。笔尖落下的不仅是一份签名，更是一份“以好奇为帆、以探索为桨”的成长约定，一颗“敢于提问、勇于求真”的种子，就此在孩子们心中深深扎根。

As the session came to a conclusion, students gathered with their favorite books for Dr. Moser to sign-each autograph a token of inspiration that will remind them of their commitment to curiosity and courage.

在送别爱德华·莫泽博士时，孩子们眼中闪烁着好奇与不舍。他们或许还不太懂“网格细胞”或“认知图谱”，但一定会记得那句：“保持好奇，自己去寻找答案。”

When students said goodbye to Dr. Moser, there was curiosity and wonder in their eyes. They may not fully understand grid cells or cognitive mapping, but they will always remember to stay curious.

对枫叶小熊而言，这不是结束，而是刚刚开始。我们相信，科学的精神不只属于实验室，也属于每一个敢于发问的童年。
