On August 26, in Xinwo Sub-district, Pan’an County, Zhejiang, the branch conductor from the high-voltage distribution room of the Xianmai TCM Great Health Intelligent Manufacturing Project was successfully connected to the 10 kV Lingfeng Line. This marked the completion of the external power supply line commissioning by State Grid Jinhua Power Supply Company. The 300-meter-long 10 kV double-circuit line not only ensures reliable power for China’s largest TCM supercritical project—with a total investment of 3.6 billion yuan—but also signals a pivotal step in Pan’an’s pursuit of a 10-billion-yuan-level TCM health industry cluster.
As a key project in Zhejiang, the Xianmai TCM Great Health Intelligent Manufacturing Project is not only China’s largest TCM supercritical initiative, but also Pan'an’s biggest single-investment manufacturing project—a flagship milestone in the local TCM industry’s shift toward high-end manufacturing. The project plans 12 production lines covering supercritical pesticide residue removal, nano-nutrient production, and high-end intelligent equipment manufacturing. Once fully operational, its annual output is projected to exceed 3.5 billion yuan, bolstering the transformation of Pan’an’s TCM sector and the cluster’s growth.
The newly commissioned external line adopts a “dual-power supply + switch” design. During construction, to safeguard grid stability and minimize disruptions to nearby businesses and residents, State Grid Jinhua Power Supply Company devised a meticulous power guarantee plan—deploying emergency generators for temporary grid connection in adherence to the “maintain power while working” principle. During scheduled outages, large-capacity emergency generators were connected to affected 10 kV lines, achieving seamless power transition and ensuring “zero-perception” for key users and residents along the line.
On commissioning day, staff overcame high temperatures and complex conditions, following standardized procedures to efficiently complete conductor erection and equipment connection. Emergency generators ran stably for 8.7 hours, delivering approximately 3,000 kWh of backup power—effectively supporting a smooth grid transition during operations.
Wang Maoliang, the project lead, remarked, “From applying for temporary power to getting the official line up and running, the power company cut through red tape the whole way—they slashed the timeline by half compared to the usual process!”
Adequate power fuels industrial growth. Going forward, State Grid Jinhua will continue monitoring key project progress, optimize the grid structure, and leverage its “3+3” customer manager system. It will provide value-added services—such as energy efficiency diagnostics and demand response—for the second phase of the Xianmai project, helping Pan’an accelerate in the race toward TCM modernization.(By Wang Yangyang, Zhou Junnan)
