On August 27, during the Kuala Lumpur Roundtable on Asia-Pacific Regional Cooperation of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), Mr. Ban Ki-Moon, Chairman of the BFA, announced that the BFA Annual Conference 2026 is to be held from March 24 to 27 in Boao, Hainan Province of China.

Chairman Ban stated that, in a world perplexed by increasing turbulence, uncertainty and complexity, the need & urgency of regional cooperation has never been greater. We are pursuing high-quality and inclusive development in the Asia-Pacific and making Asia continue to take the lead in global transformation. The BFA and our Annual Conference each spring will continue to speak loud for Asia, for regional cooperation & integration, for multilateralism and globalization, and for open, inclusive, high-quality & sustainable development.

The Kuala Lumpur Roundtable on Asia-Pacific Regional Cooperation is another important regional meeting held by the BFA, aiming to promote open regionalism and advance regional integration.
