记者致电负责本次拍卖的工作人员，工作人员证实了这一点，并表示大家参与竞拍的保证金将原路返还。截至撤回时，此次拍卖已有6528人报名，40377人设置提醒，57.64万次围观。

据封面新闻消息，照看这只猫的宠物店工作人员说：“猫咪各方面都很好，也很胖，八九斤了。它现在身价很高，感觉没三五千拍不到。”该工作人员告诉记者，这是宠物店第一次接收法拍猫，没想到会受到这么多关注。“我猜可能是因为‘扣押’两个字吧，主人有问题，猫被扣押了，大家都想来拯救一下。”他说。
