"Paddles up!" "Harder!" "Power till the end!" That's the sound of the Guangzhou International Dragon Boat Team hitting the water at Haizhu Lake every weekend. For about two and a half hours, paddlers push through intense training. Many of the women on the team hail not just from China but also from countries like the United States, Russia, New Zealand, South Africa and Ireland.

Kymberle, a team member from the US, shared her passion, "Dragon boating is part of China's thousands of years of history. I fell in love with it and became part of it. When we paddle, we showcase the strength of women."

Chen Yue, 37, has been training with the team for six months. A fitness and nature enthusiast, she found that dragon boating perfectly combines both passions. "At first, I thought only locals in Guangzhou paddled dragon boats. Later, I realized how inclusive the sport is. It welcomes both locals and foreigners, men and women alike. If a culture is to spread far and endure, it can't be held in the hands of a few."

Fu Jie, 47, who has over four years of experience, is deeply drawn to the sport's emphasis on teamwork. "Even if team members have different levels of skill, we all try our best to observe, coordinate, and paddle in sync. That sense of shared purpose is truly powerful."

在龙舟上，她们划出了“力量”人生

“Paddles up！”“Harder！”“Power till the end！”每逢周末，广州国际龙舟队的队员们都会在海珠湖上进行约两个半小时划龙舟训练。队中女子成员除来自中国外，还来自美国、俄罗斯、新西兰、南非、爱尔兰等国家。

来自美国的队员Kymberle表示：“龙舟是中国几千年历史的一部分，我爱上了它，也成为其中一员。在划龙舟时，我们展现了女孩的力量感。”

“龙舟把不同国家和文化的人联系在一起，这真的太棒了！”27岁的队员徐可心说。她认为龙舟改变了她的生活状态，让她变得更积极和自信：“现在我更关注如何让身体更健康强壮，而不只是外表漂不漂亮。”

37岁的陈悦（化名）加入训练半年，她本就热爱健身和大自然，划龙舟正好满足了她对运动与自然的双重喜好。她起初以为只有广州本地人才划龙舟，后来才发现这项运动极具包容性：“它包容本国人，也包容外国人，包容男性，也包容女性。文化要传播得更远、更久，就不能只握在少数人手里。”

已有四年多划龙舟经验的47岁队员付捷，则被这项运动的团队精神深深吸引。她说：“哪怕实力不同，大家也会努力观察、互相配合，动作尽量同步。那种高度一致的目标感让我非常震撼。”
