According to online travel platform Ctrip, family trips accounted for 35% of total travel orders on the platform, while searches for child-friendly hotels increased by 45% year-on-year. Data from Meituan Travel shows that since May, interest in "family-friendly hotels with children's playgrounds" surged by over 409%, and keywords such as "family hotels with slides" and "seaview family rooms" also became popular search terms.
This year's Children's Day activities will offer even more creativity, including hopscotch, family escape rooms, role-playing experiences, and immersive fantasy theaters. Platforms also partnered with providers of parent-child activities to launch popular offerings such as museum deep-dive tours, study camp packages, and parent-child dragon boat races, many of which came bundled with group buying discounts.
For a three-day holiday, many travelers opted for self-driving or high-speed rail tours. Data shows that among the top self-driving destinations, shanghai, guangzhou, and Beijing ranked in the top three. As for high-speed rail trips, travelers preferred destinations within two hours, with cities like Changsha, Zhengzhou, and Shanghai being the most popular.
