To ensure uninterrupted power for residents and key customers throughout the winter peak demand period, State Grid Zhoukou Power Supply Company has prioritized winter grid reliability. It has taken proactive measures and implemented a multi-pronged approach to prepare for and address the challenges of increased electricity demand, safeguard essential services, and guarantee the safe, stable, and reliable operation of the power grid.

On January 7th, State Grid Shangshui County Power Supply Company organized Communist Party member service teams to visit key communities and villages and conduct winter electricity usage awareness campaigns. Through visits, distribution of brochures, and text messages, they educated residents on safe electricity practices to enhance their safety awareness.

The Shangshui County company, focusing on safety, power supply reliability, service quality, and public welfare, has proactively developed a comprehensive winter peak preparedness plan. This plan included a thorough analysis of the current grid status, pinpointing vulnerabilities and addressing them through comprehensive inspections and maintenance of distribution lines and equipment. Load and temperature measurements were conducted on heavily loaded lines and equipment to monitor their operational status, and any defective equipment was promptly replaced or repaired. An emergency response mechanism was also in place to enhance the company’s capability to handle unexpected events and ensure swift and effective responses in critical situations.

“The drone is currently inspecting pole number 6 on the 10kV Wenxi line. Initial assessment indicates normal hardware status.” On January 8th, State Grid Fugou County Power Supply Company conducted a comprehensive “health check” of its power lines and equipment, coupled with customer manager outreach visits.

The Fugou company has intensified grid monitoring efforts, employing advanced technologies like infrared temperature measurement, ultrasonic testing, and drone inspections for a thorough assessment of power equipment. Daily patrols further ensured real-time awareness of equipment operating conditions. Monitoring and early warning systems for transmission lines susceptible to icing have been strengthened, with risk assessments conducted for potential hazards from nearby plastic greenhouses and corrugated iron structures to maintain grid stability. Seventeen emergency response teams have been established at local power supply stations, fully equipped with ample repair and cold weather gear. These teams were committed to ensuring uninterrupted power supply for critical facilities such as residential heating systems, transportation hubs, hospitals, and schools. The company also proactively disseminated supply service information and responded to customer inquiries, fostering a safe electricity usage environment for the community.
