At the recent Sixth International Student Festival's International Student Good Voice Competition, Abiona Modupe Mary, a Nigerian doctoral student on a Chinese government scholarship from Southern Medical University, emerged as the champion.

This year's competition attracted participation from 350 international students representing 52 prestigious universities, including Tsinghua University, Sun Yat-sen University, and Wuhan University. After mass audition and knockout rounds, 12 finalists were selected to compete in the finale, showcasing their immense love for music and unwavering pursuit of their dreams through their singing and talent.

During the first round of the finale, the contestants showcased their vibrant emotions, exceptional skills, and beautiful voices as they delivered moving performances of songs such as "My Motherland and Me," "I Love You, China," "Katyusha," and "Jasmine Flower," winning enthusiastic applause from judges and audiences. In the climax of the competition, Mary performed the English song "Unstoppable." Finally, her outstanding vocal ability and heartfelt rendition earned her a remarkable score of 98.90, securing her the championship.

After the competition, she said excitedly, "I am so happy to represent Southern Medical University in this singing competition. While studying in China, I have not only gained medical knowledge but also discovered my potential for singing. From the stage within the university to the grand stage outside, I have felt the warmth and interaction of numerous audience members from both China and abroad. This experience will leave a vibrant mark on my personal story in China."

尼日利亚留学生获来华留学生歌手大赛冠军

在近日举行的第六届留学生节留学生好声音来华留学生歌手大赛上，来自广东南方医科大学尼日利亚籍中国政府奖学金博士研究生Abiona Modupe Mary获得冠军。

本届大赛吸引来自清华大学、中山大学、武汉大学等52所知名高校350名来华留学生报名参赛。经过海选和晋级赛，12名来华留学生最终晋级决赛。决赛12强选手用他们的歌声和才华，展现了他们对音乐的无限热爱和对梦想的执着追求。

在决赛的首轮突围赛上，留学生选手们以饱满的情绪、精湛的技艺和美妙的歌喉，演绎了《我和我的祖国》《我爱你，中国》《喀秋莎》《茉莉花》等歌曲，赢得了评委和观众们的阵阵掌声。在巅峰赛中， Mary演唱了英文歌曲《Unstoppable》，凭借其出色的唱功和饱含深情的演绎，最终以98.90的高分夺得冠军。

赛后，她激动地说：“我非常高兴能代表南方医科大学参加这次留学生好声音比赛。在中国学习，我不仅收获了医学知识，还挖掘了自己在歌唱方面的潜能。从校内舞台到校外大舞台，我感受到了无数中外观众的热情和互动，这样的经历将给我的中国故事留下浓墨重彩的一笔。”
