On October 6th, the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival, family reunion trips and the Chinese folk culture tours became the buzzwords in the cultural and tourism market. Preliminary estimates show that 2.54 million visitors were received at 4A-level and above scenic spots across Guangdong province, up 2.5% year on year on a comparable basis; 342,000 visitors toured 100 monitored rural tourism sites and historic villages, an increase of 3.1%; and 350,000 people visited 80 monitored key public cultural service institutions, up 2.3% year on year.

Across the province, a variety of themed activities rich in cultural heritage and innovative in form were launched to celebrate the festival. The Guangzhou Cultural Center, in collaboration with Guangzhou Restaurant, organized a garden fair that recreated traditional Cantonese Mid-Autumn customs in a Lingnan-style garden. In Meizhou Hakka World Tourist Resort, visitors enjoyed the performances showcasing Hakka intangible cultural heritage, Guochao-style parade featuring fantasy heroes and deities, an aerial performance inspired by the legend of "Chang'e flying to the moon", and the dazzling display of molten "iron flower" fireworks, a national intangible cultural heritage item.

From October 6th to 7th, the number of travelers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region increased by more than 11% compared with the previous two days. Among the highlights, the Macao International Fireworks Display Contest drew large crowds of visitors; Dongguan offered the "Cantonese-style Moon-viewing Garden Fair," which combined Cantonese opera performances, light shows, and intangible cultural heritage experiences; Nansha District in Guangzhou launched the "The Rising Moon Over the Sea" private boat tour, where tourists savored gourmet food and enjoyed sights of the full moon, lantern riddle guessing, and traditional music performances.

Cruise tourism, a rising sector in China's travel market, also demonstrated strong appeal during the holiday. The Adora Mediterranean, known as the "Art Ship", set sail from Shenzhen for a five-day, four-night voyage. The cruise offered Mid-Autumn-themed parties, fairs, and dance workshops, as well as a gala dinner for the National Day and Mid-Autumn festival, providing travelers with a poetic moon-viewing experience on the sea.
