For the smartphone industry, Indonesia is a fiercely contested market. In 2024, smartphone sales in Indonesia reached about 40 million units, a year-on-year increase of 15.5%. Several Guangdong-based brandsranked among the top in local sales, including OPPO, which is headquartered in Shenzhen and has been deeply engaged in Indonesia for 12 years. Its factory in Indonesia is the largest smartphone manufacturing base in the country, with an annual production capacity of tens of millions of units.

Here, working with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds is not a problem at all. Jeffrey, a local employee at the factory, said, "I used to work at other foreign enterprises, but OPPO's corporate cultureis very unique and open. Working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds is both challenging and fun."
The 12 years that OPPO has been deeply rooted in Indonesia also coincide with a period of rapid growth for China's manufacturing sector. Andriani, an administrative manager at OPPO's Indonesian factory, remarked, "Products from Guangdong companies are gaining increasing recognition in the Indonesian market. After seeing our products, everyone finds them impressive. My own family uses them too—the battery, camera, and durability are all outstanding."
In addition to the localization of products and teams, OPPO has gradually integrated over a dozen local supply chain enterprisesinto its operations, including those providing packaging materials, batteries and adapters. It has also supported the development of a number of Indonesian suppliers, striving to enhance the completeness of the local smartphone industry chain while promoting industrial progress and job opportunities in the country.

“广东制造”越来越受印尼市场认可
对智能手机行业来说,印度尼西亚市场是兵家必争之地。2024年,印尼智能手机销量约4000万台,同比增长15.5%,多家来自广东的品牌位于当地手机销量榜的头部位置。而其中,总部位于深圳的OPPO已深耕印尼12年,其在印尼设立的工厂是当地规模最大的智能手机制造基地,年产能达到千万台级别。
在这里,不同文化背景的伙伴在一起共事完全不是问题。该工厂本地员工杰弗里说:“我之前曾在其他外资企业工作,OPPO的企业文化很独特、很开放。和不同文化背景的人一起工作,既有挑战,也很有趣。”
OPPO深耕印尼的这12年,也是中国制造业大踏步发展之时。印尼工厂行政管理经理安德里亚尼表示:“广东企业产品越来越受到印尼市场认可。他们看到我们的产品后,都觉得非常棒。我的家人也有在使用,电池、摄像头和耐用性都很出色。”
除了产品和团队的本地化,在供应链上,OPPO也逐步引入了包括包装材料、电池、适配器在内的十余家当地供应链企业,还支持了一批当地供应商,努力提升印尼智能手机产业链的完整度,促进当地产业进步和人才就业。
