As the autumn harvest approaches, State Grid Zhoukou Power Supply Company has made early plans and taken proactive measures to ensure stable and reliable electricity for agricultural production. Focusing on key power demands such as farmland irrigation and agricultural machinery operations, the company launched a special campaign for power supply protection during the harvest, with the goal of “zero equipment failures, zero power interruptions, and zero distance in services”.

In Shenqiu, Zhoukou, 13 service teams were dispatched to the fields to carry out a “blanket-style” inspection of power facilities. Team members checked farmland well distribution boxes and irrigation line joints, promptly repairing or replacing aging lines and loose switches. Given the high frequency of agricultural machinery operations during the harvest, they reinforced guy wires on power poles one by one and added reflective warning strips to ensure clear visibility for operators and to prevent accidental collisions with power facilities. At the same time, the teams visited agricultural machinery cooperatives to conduct “face-to-face” publicity. By distributing the Autumn Harvest Safe Electricity Handbook and demonstrating safe operation distances on site, they guided farmers and machinery operators to protect the power “lifeline” in the fields and to handle emergency outages properly.

In Xihua, Zhoukou, the power supply department adopted a “village-to-village + line inspection” model. On one hand, operation and maintenance staff conducted comprehensive inspections of 10kV rural network lines and distribution transformers, using infrared thermometers to detect overheating risks and upgrading overloaded transformers in time. On the other hand, customer managers visited households and fields to learn about farmers’ electricity needs. In addition, “autumn harvest power service points” were set up in villages, with dedicated personnel on duty to provide one-stop services such as power connection applications, fault repair, and safety consultations. To address peak irrigation demand, the company optimized grid operation and allocated resources reasonably, ensuring sufficient electricity supply for irrigation, as well as for grain drying and processing.

So far, Zhoukou power departments have identified more than 50 hidden hazards in farmland electricity and achieved a 100% rectification rate. A total of 125 power supply support teams have been formed, standing by 24/7 to handle emergencies. Going forward, the power sector will continue to closely follow the progress of the autumn harvest, dynamically adjusting supply strategies based on farmers’ needs.
