“Please do not pile plastic mulch near power facilities—this kind of behavior can easily cause a fire,” cautioned a staff member from State Grid Sanmenxia Power Supply Company on April 8, during a mountain fire prevention awareness campaign held in Xizhang Village Town Center. The campaign aimed to educate local residents on wildfire prevention and power facility protection, reinforcing the safety line of springtime grid operations.

With dry air in spring and the approach of the peak wildfire season in some areas along transmission lines, the lush vegetation in the southern mountainous region of Shanzhou poses a serious risk to transmission infrastructure. In response, State Grid Sanmenxia Power Supply Company acted early, launching proactive plans and strengthening coordination with local governments. The company formulated targeted wildfire prevention strategies and emergency response plans for key transmission lines and critical timeframes. Integrated with spring inspection priorities, a detailed patrol plan was developed, and teams were dispatched to conduct grid-style inspections along high-risk mountain transmission corridors, particularly in areas with dense vegetation. They cleared weeds and tree barriers within protected zones that could trigger line faults or tripping incidents during wildfires.

In addition, to prevent external damage to power lines and equipment during wildfire-prone spring months, service team members visited villages and households to distribute wildfire prevention materials. These outreach efforts emphasized the importance of line safety and shared practical precautions. Safety warning signs and fire prevention banners were installed along critical routes and in key locations, raising public awareness and encouraging community involvement in protecting power lines and preventing fires. By working closely with local governments, fire departments, public security, and forestry authorities, the company fostered a shared responsibility system and established a coordinated fire prevention mechanism. Through information sharing and joint efforts, they aim to ensure the effectiveness of springtime wildfire control.

To date, State Grid Sanmenxia Power Supply Company has deployed more than 100 personnel and 40 vehicles, inspecting over 30 kilometers of transmission and distribution lines, and distributing more than 200 brochures on wildfire prevention and power facility protection. Looking ahead, the company will continue to advance wildfire prevention efforts for transmission lines across its service area, further strengthen grid operation management, and tighten the seasonal fire safety perimeter to ensure a safe and reliable electricity supply.
