在应对气候变化的进程中，减缓与适应相互依存，缺一不可。然而，现实中适应气候变化的资金远少于减缓资金，亟需更多支持。当前全球极端天气频发、气候变化加剧，金融机构面临日益增加的气候物理风险，运营和财务状况均可能受到冲击。因此，加大对气候适应措施的支持，对金融机构而言，既是积极承担社会责任的表现，又有利于保护自身利益、提升市场竞争力、保障长期稳定发展。

作为“一带一路”绿色投资原则（GIP）的能力建设重点之一，GIP环境与气候风险分析工作组（WG1）拟于9月24日（周三）下午在北京举办“重塑金融机构韧性系列II：推动银行保险业的气候适应”研讨会，促进成员机构在气候风险管理和适应气候变化策略方面的交流与分享。该工作组由瑞士再保险与中国工商银行共同主持，普华永道提供支持。

研讨会将邀请来自国际领先保险机构、银行、专业服务机构以及学术领域的专家，围绕气候风险分析与压力测试、风险转移，以及通过财险产品支持气候适应的经验与实践展开分享。

While both climate adaptation and mitigation are critical responses to the climate crisis, mitigation continues to receive the majority of climate financing. Yet, the growing frequency of extreme weather events is already causing severe disruptions to infrastructure, supply chains, and assets. Scaling up adaptation has therefore become urgent. For financial institutions, adaptation is not only a responsibility but also essential for long-term stability and profitability.

As one of the key capacity-building initiatives under the Green Investment Principles (GIP) for the Belt and Road, the GIP Working Group on Environmental and Climate Risk Assessment (WG1) will convene a seminar on Wednesday afternoon, September 24, in Beijing, titled Towards Greater Resilience II: Advancing Climate Adaptation for Banks & Insurers. The Working Group is co-chaired by Swiss Re and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), with support from PwC.

The seminar will feature leading experts from global insurance companies, banks, professional service firms, and academia. Discussions will focus on climate risk analysis and stress testing, risk transfer mechanisms, and the role of insurance products in supporting adaptation.
