Yeyuhai - First Beipanjiang Bridge- Guiyang, Guizhou:

Finally comes the chance of proudly sending the four wheels spinning on the superb surface of First Beipanjiang Bridge, a chance tinged with the ego fed by the world’s highest bridge which is a mere 1340m section of the 3400km G56 Hangzhou-Ruili Highway running through 7 provinces from Hangzhou, Zhejiang in the east to Ruili, Yunnan in the southwest. The bridge conjures up the image of a thin line slicing through the firmament when gazed at from afar. Going on this four-lane engineering marvel strikes one as being no different from doing so on any other roads. There isn’t the slightest hint of the feel that we are in fact cruising in the air 565.5m above the ground. However, if you pull over and look down over the guard rails at the valley and the border river Nizhuhe of the two provinces of Yunnan and Guizhou below, which is of course not allowed, your eyes will be swimming. A bundle of nerves, you’ll cross your fingers that those cables that keep the whole thing afloat can hold on at least another minute before what your feet are on collapses. With that, you’ll spin on your heel, hurl yourselves back into the car and make a bolt for it.

车轮滚滚，终于有机会骄傲地驶过北盘江第一桥那高级路面。那机会隐隐约约渗透着世界第一高桥带来的自豪感。G56杭瑞高速自东部浙江杭州始，贯7省3400公里后至西南云南瑞丽，其一小段1340米即北盘江第一桥。远观大桥像条细线切过苍穹。走在这双向4车道工程奇迹之上跟在其它公路上体验无异，完全无感实于距地565.5米的空中划过。桥上不许停车，但若真停且凭栏往下观瞧下面谷地和滇黔两省界河尼洙河，定会目眩。因紧张，会祈祷让那桥面得以飘于空中的钢索能再多坚持至少1分钟，脚下别漏，接着猛转身扑进车逃逸。

And right now there must be crowds of visitors who have made it to the bridge base to savor up the bridge’s imposing grandeur by looking up and hearing traffic roaring overhead, a place which we tried to get to but gave a miss yesterday.

昨日去桥底未成，而现在我们驶过大桥之际想必很多人正从桥底上仰视角感受其魏然恢弘、体验桥上车辆驶过的隆隆声。

We hightail it on Shanghai-Kunming Highway and 3 hours later we roll into Guiyang, the seat of government of the province of Guizhou 240km east of Liupanshui, after darkness descends. The hotel room window fronts onto the glowing twin towers which are part of the nightly hustle and bustle of the city. The lights from the marbled facade of Huaguoyuan Art Center is reflected off the water of the pond in front of it. Better known as Baigong (white house), it’s a private property that takes up 5300sqm and contains 1200 rooms, and is a must-see for visitors.

时间紧，奔上沪昆高速向东，4小时行240公里天黑后至贵州省会贵阳。酒店房间窗户正对双子塔之光，那是贵阳繁华之夜的一角。大理石外表的花果园艺术中心的正面光影倒映在其前湿地公园池塘的水面之上。艺术中心俗称白宫，这座占地5300平方米，内有1200个房间的私人别墅是游客打卡地。
