This conference aims to bring frontier research on empirical and theoretical issues in international finance, global banking and open economy macroeconomics to address the challenges confronting the global economy. The global inflation is easing and this shift may allow central banks to lower interest rates gradually. Global growth may be steady, but it’s still not uniform. Government budgets are stretched, and in response austerity and stricter fiscal policies are on the way. Corporate insolvencies are on the rise. Geopolitical uncertainty and new Tariffs remain top concerns for the global economy. These new developments, coupled with uneven economic growth and geopolitical fragmentation, have resulted in substantial fluctuations in exchange rates, capital flows and global imbalances. Consequently, these developments heighten concerns regarding monetary policy and financial stability.
