马克斯·卡尔·弗里德里希·贝克曼（1884 年 2 月 12 日 - 1950 年 12 月 27 日）是德国画家、绘图员、版画家、雕塑家和作家。尽管他被归类为表现主义艺术家，但他拒绝接受这一术语和这一运动。在 20 世纪 20 年代，他与新客观主义（Neue Sachlichkeit ）联系在一起，这是表现主义的产物，反对其内向的情感主义。即使是在处理马戏团演员等轻松题材时，贝克曼的作品中也常常流露出一丝忧郁或不安的暗流。到了 20 世纪 30 年代，他的作品变得更加明确，其恐怖意象和扭曲形式，结合了残酷的现实主义和社会批评，恰逢纳粹主义在德国的兴起。
