Among these trips, 869,000 trips were made by mainland residents, an increase of 11.1% over the same period last year; 749,000 trips were made by Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents, an increase of 12.8% over the same period last year; and 185,000 trips were made by foreigners, an increase of 33.6% over the same period last year. A total of 67,000 vehicles (ships, trains and motor vehicles) were inspected, representing a year-on-year increase of 14.7%.
In accordance with the unified deployment of the National Immigration Administration, all police officers of border inspection agencies across China have been mobilized and taken the initiative to predict in advance, and announce to the public the peak hours of inbound and outbound traffic at each port, reminding and guiding the majority of inbound and outbound passengers to plan their itineraries reasonably and travel during off-peak hours. It ensured that Chinese citizens spent less than 30 minutes queuing for entry and exit customs, and provided a smooth passenger experience. (By Dai Yao/China Youth Daily)
