EVERYONE seems to have a favourite season, don’t they?

每个人似乎都有自己偏爱的季节，不是吗？

My sister, for example, has always loved winter. She says there's nothing to beat a cold, clear day when the ground is hard and sparkling with frost and the sun is bright and distant in the sky.

就拿我姐姐来说，她一直钟爱冬季。她说，没有什么能比得上寒冷而晴朗的日子——大地坚硬，霜花闪烁，明亮的太阳高悬在遥远的天空。

She loves it when snow is falling outside, big, soft flakes against the black velvet night, and she's warm and cosy in front of the fire with a hot drink and a good book.

她喜欢看屋外飘雪，大片柔软的雪花在漆黑的夜幕里飘飘洒洒，而自己则窝在炉火前温暖舒适地喝着热饮，读一本好书。

She's a bit of a romantic, my sister.

我姐姐是个有点浪漫情怀的人。

To me, winter is cold and steely, unchanging for weeks and weeks, and I say you can keep it. It's summer all the way for me.

但在我看来，冬季寒冷而阴沉，一连几周都一成不变，所以我说，这样的季节还是敬谢不敏。对我来说，夏天才是永远的心头好。

I've always loved the summertime. When the weather gets warmer, I can feel myself blossoming right along with all the trees and flowers.

我一直深爱夏日。当天气渐渐变暖，我能感觉自己与树木鲜花一同绽放。

I love how every day starts early, with that beautiful clear light, and seems to go on and on, unhurried, fading into fragrant golden evenings.

我喜爱每个夏日早早开始，伴着明媚清澈的晨光，时光悠悠，仿佛无穷无尽，从容不迫地渐渐隐入芬芳的金色黄昏。
