Myanmar exported over 80,000 tons of fish in the first four months from April to July of the current fiscal year 2025-2026, earning 96 million U.S. dollars, state-owned daily The Global New Light of Myanmar reported on Thursday.

Over 45,900 tons of fish were shipped by sea, while over 35,000 tons were exported to neighboring countries via the border trade, the report said, citing the Department of Fisheries.

The country exports seafood to 40 countries, including China, Thailand, Bangladesh and Japan, through maritime routes and land borders, it said.

In the previous fiscal year 2024-2025, Myanmar exported about 400,000 tons of fish, the report said.
