学者型画家在世界画坛可谓凤毛麟角。中国现当代杰出的学者型油画家钟涵是中国油画具有代表性的领军人物，曾任中国美术家协会油画艺委会副主任、中央美术学院教授，在油画创作、教学以及美术理论研究方面皆作出突出贡献。
钟涵一生始终以充沛的理想主义激情追求创造具有民族气魄和时代精神的中国油画。他以绚烂多姿的光线调子和雄浑博大的独特风格创作了光辉的革命历史、灿烂的黄河船工、明净的古都画室等重大题材作品，将自然外光升华为光彩熠熠的神圣之光。他以宽广的艺术视野深情眷恋神州大地的悠悠历史与璀璨文化，用深邃高雅、含蓄隽永的视觉语言谱写了华夏文明的灿烂史诗。其系列作品气势恢宏却又富有强烈的浪漫抒情气息，对中国美术产生了深远影响。
本次展览是文化和旅游部2024年全国美术馆馆藏精品展出季优秀展览巡展扶持项目，展出北京画院珍藏的钟涵1961至2021年60年间创作的油画、水粉、素描等精品，分为“长河蜿蜒”“吾道不孤”“厚土之诗”三个单元，全面呈现钟涵追求完美、超越自我的艺术求索历程，深度揭示艺术大家创作过程的神秘密码。
In the contemporary art circle of the world, it is indeed rare to find scholar-painters who achieve remarkable success in painting, artistic research and education. As an outstanding scholar-painter, Zhong Han was one of the leading oil-painting artists and professors in China. Cherishing an idealistic passion to create oil paintings with a unique modern Chinese style, Zhong produced a series of masterpieces with refined colors and magnificent style, which exert a profound influence on the development of Chinese art.
This exhibition is a ‘Tour show of Outstanding Collection Exhibition from Art Museums in China 2024’ awarded by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The exhibition is composed of three units: ‘The Zigzagging Yellow River’, ‘Never Alone in Art’ and ‘Poetic Scenery’. It demonstrates Zhong Han’s creative process and artistic evolution in 60 years, showcasing his oil paintings, gouaches and sketches from the collection of Beijing Fine Art Academy.

About Artist
钟 涵
1929-2023
笔名华沐，江西萍乡人，著名油画艺术家、美术教育家和艺术理论家，是“学者型艺术家”的代表。曾任中国美术家协会油画艺术委员会副主任，中央美术学院教授、学术委员会主任，中国油画学会常务理事，比利时皇家科学文学艺术院外籍院士。钟涵于1946年入清华大学建筑系学习，1955年入中央美术学院油画系学习，1963年研究生毕业后留校任教。1980年赴比利时安特卫普皇家美术学院进修，并于1980年代初到西欧各国考察。钟涵的代表作有《延河边上》《东渡黄河》《浪里摇篮》等，多幅作品参加国内外大型展览并被收藏。曾出版《钟涵乡土小品油画》《廊下巡礼》论文集等。
Zhong Han is a renowned oil painter, art educator and art theorist, and is a representative of ‘scholar-artist’. He used to be the deputy director of the Oil Painting Committee of China Artists Association, a professor and director of the Academic Committee of Central Academy of Fine Arts, a standing director of the Chinese Oil Painting Society, and a foreign academician of the Royal Belgian Academy of Sciences, Literature and Arts. He entered the Department of Architecture of Tsinghua University in 1946 and the Oil Painting Department of Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1955. After graduating from postgraduate studies in 1963, he remained at the university to teach. In 1980, he went to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium for further study. Zhong Han’s representative works include ‘By the Yan River’‘Crossing the Yellow River to the East’‘Cradle on the Waves’, etc. Many of his works have participated in large-scale exhibitions at home and abroad, and have been collected. His publications include ‘A Tour Under the Corridor’, etc.
