The National Commission of Development and Reform (NDRC) recently issued a plan on optimizing and adjusting the layout of national logistics hubs. Twenty-six national-level logistics hubs were added, including the Yongzhou Land Port.

So far, Yongzhou has been approved for "one hub and one base" in China's logistics system, adding to its existing national backbone cold-chain logistics base.

The successive approval of Yongzhou's "one hub and one base" is closely linked to the city's unique advantages. As an important node on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, Yongzhu serves as Hunan's southern gateway for opening-up and a bridgehead for collaboration with ASEAN.

Leveraging its geographical advantages, Yongzhou is advancing southward, seaward, and outward to address its longstanding bottleneck in transportation and accelerate the building of a national-level regional comprehensive transportation hub city. With the Yongzhou Land Port as a leading platform for opening-up, Yongzhou has continuously rolled out "Ten Major Projects" for comprehensive transportation infrastructure construction, to enhance the efficiency and accelerate the pace in southward, seaward, and outward transportation connectivity. In 2024, Yongzhou's average road freight turnover growth ranked second provincewide, with one percentage point decrease in the overall logistics cost index. A new opening-up pattern is taking shape.

Yongzhou has been focusing on dovetailing with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (the Greater Bay Area in short) and the regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, actively attracting capital and tourists while promoting products and local businesses to the world.

At present, more than half of Yongzhou's investment comes from the Greater Bay Area, realizing a collaborative innovation mode of "R&D in Greater Bay Area and production in Yongzhou". A batch of industrial clusters have emerged. Five provincial-level industrial clusters and potential ones were added, bringing the total number to nine, which ranks second provincewide. "Yongzhou Travel" is sought-after by travelers from the Greater Bay Area. In 2024, Yongzhou received 8.4431 million visits from the area, increasing 20.1% year on year.

Yongzhou performs brilliantly in vegetable export. In 2024, it had 38 newly-approved vegetable export bases, bringing the total number to 110. Thirteen vegetable supply bases to the Greater Bay Area were newly authorized or renewed, with the total number exceeding 160. Its annual fruit and vegetable exports reached 13.89 billion CNY, topping the prefecture-level cities nationwide. With overseas warehouses set up in Thailand, Bahrain, and other locations, Yongzhou has exported its agricultural products to 30 countries and regions, while fulfilling over 40% of vegetable orders for supermarkets in Hong Kong.
