On the evening of May 26th, the 2025 Hongqi Community Night Dragon Boat Parade took place in Ronggui Subdistrict, Shunde District, Foshan City. Eleven dragon boats representing local neighborhoods and communities paraded through rivers, adorned with traditional decorative umbrellas, flags, and colorful lights.
In the lead-up to the Dragon Boat Festival, residents of Ronggui perform the "Dragon-boat-raising" Ceremony followed by the "Awakening the Dragon" Ceremony. Participants rotate the head of the dragon boat with specific movements, such as lifting it high or circling it, to symbolically "awaken" the ancient dragon and endow it with spiritual energy. Only then may the dragon boat join in the festive racing events. In Ronggui, this "Dragon Head Turning" ritual has evolved over time into a grand nighttime dragon boat parade. Boatmen aboard the boats rotate the dragon heads while moving rhythmically to the drumbeats, rocking the hull like a "dragon boat disco."
"Attention-grabbers" appeared on the night parade as many young people actively participated in the event.
All the dragon boats are beautifully decorated in vibrant colors; the varied decorative lighting makes them shine at night.
Visitors on-site can also hop aboard and join the lively "dragon boat disco," sharing the vibrant joy of this unique tradition. On May 28th, an even larger-scale night dragon parade will take place in Ronggui's Southern District. Everyone is welcome to come and experience this Cantonese-style "cyberpunk" spectacle.

【图集】顺德龙舟会蹦迪能发光！来容桂感受广式“赛博朋克”
5月26日晚，2025红旗社区夜龙巡游活动在佛山市顺德区容桂街道举行。11支来自各坊社的龙舟身披罗伞、旗帜、彩灯，在“扮靓”一番后齐聚河涌巡游。
在端午节前，顺德容桂的人们会在“起龙”后，进行“醒龙”仪式。参与者以特定动作转动龙头（如昂首、绕圈），象征“唤醒”老龙，赋予龙舟灵性，而后龙舟才能参与端午竞渡。其中，“转龙头”仪式在容桂地区，随着时代发展逐渐成为盛大的夜龙汇游活动。登上龙舟的船手们会一边转动龙头，一边伴随音乐鼓点，上下跃动“摁”动船身，其动感程度堪比“蹦迪”。
现场游客如果想体验“龙舟蹦迪”，也可上船体验，同享龙舟竞美的乐趣。5月28日在容桂南区还有一场规模更大的夜龙汇游，欢迎大家来容桂共同感受广式“赛博朋克”。
