On May 20, Federated Hermes, an investor of CNBM, visited CUCC Qingzhou to conduct in-depth research on the 200,000-tonnes annual carbon dioxide full-oxygen combustion enrichment and purification demonstration project (hereinafter referred to as the "CCUS project"). Federated Hermes is a market leader in active investment and sustainable development, providing global investors with professional investment capabilities and groundbreaking asset management services. The firm currently oversees approximately $840 billion in assets under management.

调研中，Federated Hermes实地走访了CCUS项目、厂区中控室及绿色矿山等区域现场，深入了解CCUS项目工艺方案及其在推动绿色减碳方面的重要意义。

During the research, Federated Hermes conducted field inspections at the CCUS project site, the central control room of the plant, and the green mining area, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the project’s technical process and its significance in advancing green carbon reduction.

During the symposium , both parties engaged in in-depth exchanges on CCUS Qingzhou’s achievements in technological innovation and green low-carbon development, the supply-demand dynamics of the cement market, and the application of CCUS products. Qingzhou United presented itself as CNBM's flagship base with the most complete industrial chain and a prime exemplar of the "Cement+" strategic initiative. The company is a new-type building materials enterprise that integrates comprehensive resource utilization, circular economy, and green environmental protection. CCUS Qingzhou is the first demonstration initiative in CNBM’s cement sector and the world’s first industrial-scale application of full-oxygen combustion coupled with low-energy-consumption carbon capture technology in the cement industry. By implementing the new development philosophy, the project has achieved ecological, economic, and social benefits, serving as a key measure in advancing China’s carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals.

Federated Hermes highly commended the advanced green achievements of the CCUS project, recognizing it as a testament to CNBM’s leadership in carbon emission reduction technologies and an innovative benchmark for the industry’s low-carbon transformation. Discussions also extended to workforce skills transition and logistics energy mix optimization. Qingzhou United expressed its commitment to incorporating professional recommendations to build an innovative, intelligent, green, and harmonious integrated industrial chain, driving the industry’s transition toward green, low-carbon, and circular development.

The research delegation was joined by Li Chen, Independent Director of Tianshan Materials, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Cement Association, and Director of Policy Research, along with members of CCUS Qingzho’s management team and relevant department heads.
