康京和（Kyung-wha Kang），美国亚洲协会会长兼首席执行官，韩国前外交部长
嘉宾简介
康京和博士是一位杰出的外交官，曾担任韩国第38任外交部长（2017至2021年）。她是韩国历史上首位女性外长，致力于争取全球支持，推动与朝鲜接触，实现朝鲜半岛持久和平与完全无核化。在此之前，她曾在联合国担任多个重要领导职位，包括联合国人权事务副高级专员、人道主义事务副协调员兼助理秘书长、以及联合国秘书长安东尼奥·古特雷斯的政策高级顾问。在加入联合国之前，康博士在韩国外交部担任多个职位，专注于多边事务及政府间组织的工作。她曾在韩国常驻联合国代表团担任公使，并在此期间主持了第48届和第49届联合国妇女地位委员会会议。此外，她在起草《联合国残疾人权利公约》的过程中，推动了对残疾女性问题的重视。康博士毕业于韩国延世大学，获得政治学与外交学学士学位，并在美国马萨诸塞大学阿默斯特分校获得硕士和博士学位。她的博士研究领域是国际与跨文化传播。康博士曾任梨花女子大学名誉特聘教授，现为延世大学全球参与与赋权研究所的特聘教授。

Global Challenges and Multilateralism
In today’s world, turmoil and chaos are intertwined. Human society is confronted with multiple challenges such as frequent conflicts, climate change and geopolitical games. However, the atmosphere of unity and cooperation among countries has been greatly impacted by unilateralism and protectionism, and global governance has fallen into a "leadership deficit". Facing the complex problems of the Times, the solution lies in upholding and practicing multilateralism and promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. In view of this, the third session of the “Global Masters Forum” of Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Renmin University of China (RDCY) invited Dr. Kyung-wha Kang, President & CEO of Asia Society, to visit Renmin University of China on May 23, 2025 and deliver a speech, sharing her insights on current global challenges, multilateralism and the future development of humanity.

Speaker's CV
Dr. Kyung-wha Kang is an accomplished diplomat who served as South Korea’s 38th Minister of Foreign Affairs (2017 to 2021). She is the first woman appointed to this post in the nation’s history, endeavoring to garner global support for South Korea’s initiative to engage with North Korea toward lasting peace and complete denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula. She previously held key leadership roles at the United Nations, including as Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights, Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator and Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, and Senior Advisor on Policy to Secretary-General António Guterres. Before joining the United Nations, Dr. Kang held various positions in South Korea’s Foreign Ministry, specializing in multilateral affairs and intergovernmental organizations. Among others, she served as Minister at the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations, during which she chaired the 48th and 49th sessions of the UN Commission on the Status of Women. Additionally, she spearheaded efforts to highlight women with disabilities in the drafting of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Dr. Kang graduated from Yonsei University in Korea with a BA in political science and diplomacy and holds an MA and PhD from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her doctorate research as in the field of international and intercultural communication. Dr. Kang served as Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Ewha Womans University and is Distinguished Professor at the Institute for Global Engagement & Empowerment at Yonsei University.

中国人民大学重阳金融研究院（人大重阳）成立于2013年1月19日，是重阳投资向中国人民大学捐赠并设立教育基金运营的主要资助项目。
作为中国特色新型智库，人大重阳聘请了全球数十位前政要、银行家、知名学者为高级研究员，旨在关注现实、建言国家、服务人民。目前，人大重阳下设7个部门、运营管理4个中心(生态金融研究中心、全球治理研究中心、中美人文交流研究中心、中俄人文交流研究中心)。近年来，人大重阳在金融发展、全球治理、大国关系、宏观政策等研究领域在国内外均具有较高认可度。
