It successfully collected and ignited the ice on the seabed, creating a spectacular underwater vision of "fire and water coexisting in harmony".

They maintained stable power output even under complex weather conditions. With only one day available for installation after the research vessel's arrival, the prefabricated installation plan enabled rapid deployment, ensuring the smooth progress of the "source flame" collection.
In the Haima Cold Seep area in the South China Sea at a depth of 1,522 meters, Gokin Solar's solar tracking system converted sunlight into electricity, which was transmitted via special cables to power the underwater ignition equipment. This created a completely closed, clean-energy loop of "light, electricity, and fire", providing a stable and reliable power guarantee for igniting the flammable ice.

10月9日,第十五届全运会及残特奥会火种采集仪式在广州南沙举行。本次火种采集实现了全球首次从南海1522米深处的可燃冰中获取“源火”的历史性突破。
在南海海马冷泉区,我国自主研发的“海马”号深海遥控潜水器搭载可燃冰原位采集分解及引燃装置,成功在海底采集并引燃可燃冰,形成了“水火相济”的海底奇观。
