On September 26th, the "Eye of the Bay Area," the world's largest physical bookstore, officially opened in Shenzhen's Qianhai Urban New Centre. This new cultural landmark, with an area of 131,000 square meters, is designed with a double-jade plate concept that blends seamlessly into the coastal green axis. Having already won international awards like the MUSE Design Awards and the International Architecture Awards, the complex is more than just a bookstore—it is a comprehensive hub for cultural exchange and development across the GBA.

The grand opening drew huge crowds on its opening day. It features themed reading spaces designed by an international avant-garde art team, housing nearly 100,000 categories, totaling over 300,000 books. A standout feature is the rooftop "Starry Sky Garden," which spans more than 20,000 square meters and connects the northern and southern sections of the bookstore. In the future, activities such as outdoor movies and starlit music concerts will be held here. Additionally, the bookstore has also attracted a host of debut and flagship stores of specialty cultural brands.

Incorporating numerous technological elements, "Eye of the Bay Area" not only showcases cutting-edge Shenzhen technologies such as triple-folding projectors and BYD's "God's Eye" driving assistance system, but also introduces a unique book-edge printing service. On its opening day, the Bay Area Folk Customs Museum within the complex unveiled nearly 80 high-definition images of Tang Dynasty murals, complemented by immersive digital experiences.

From its opening until October 8th, "Eye of the Bay Area" will host seven major themed events, including the South China debut of the "The Three-Body Problem" IP exhibition and the Greater Bay Area premiere of an immersive exhibition inspired by the blockbuster animated film "Nobody". During the event, visitors will also receive giveaways such as book blind boxes, folk cultural and creative products, dining vouchers, and over 10,000 opening discount coupons.

全球最大实体书城“湾区之眼”开业

粤港澳大湾区再添一座文化新地标。9月26日，全球最大实体书城“湾区之眼”在深圳前海城市新中心开业。“湾区之眼”建筑面积13.1万平方米，以独特的“双玉盘”建筑形态融入滨海绿轴，荣获缪斯设计奖、IAA国际建筑奖优胜奖等国际奖项。它不仅是书城，更是多元文化融合的综合体，助力粤港澳大湾区文化交流与发展。

“湾区之眼”开业当日人气爆棚。由国际先锋艺术团队打造的主题阅读空间，汇聚近10万种、超30万册精选好书。书城顶层超2万平方米的星空花园连通南北区，未来将举办露天电影、星空音乐会等活动。同时，这里还落户了一批特色文化品牌首店、创新店。

“湾区之眼”融入众多科技元素，不仅展示三折叠投影仪、比亚迪“天神之眼”等深圳最新科技成果，还首创推出书口印刷机个性化服务。深圳湾区民俗馆26日在“湾区之眼”首次大规模系统性展示近80幅唐代壁画高清图片，并配套沉浸式数字体验等。

据悉，至10月8日，“湾区之眼”将举办七大主题活动，包括《三体》IP华南超级首展、“浪浪山 嘻游趣”沉浸式主题展大湾区首展等。活动期间，还将免费放送图书盲盒、民俗文创、餐饮券，以及超万张开业抵扣券。
