The "five-chief coordination", an important point of focus for the development of Changsha's industrial chains, refers to the collaboration among the chain chief, university principal, bank president, alliance leader, and fund chairman. It involves "key persons" in key links of industrial development such as talent, finance, innovation, and supply chain.

In recent years, Changsha has established a complete automobile industry system that integrates the R&D, manufacturing, sales, and services of complete vehicles and key parts. It boasts two complete vehicle clusters—Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone and Yuhua Economic and Technological Development Zone, and several automobile supporting industry clusters—Changsha County, Wangcheng Economic and Technological Development Zone, Liuyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, and Ningxiang High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

In the first 10 months of this year, Changsha has produced 847,000 units of automobiles, up 17% from the same period last year. In particular, the output of new energy vehicles grew 18.5% year on year to 711,000 units. The city's automobile output is expected to exceed 1 million units this year.
