People rely on their friends, just as cities rely on their neighbours in their metropolitan areas. Recently, passengers returning to Zhengzhou carrying shopping bags from "Pangdonglai" have become a common sight on the trains between Zhengzhou and Xuchang. This lively scene of everyday life reflects the vibrant integrated development of the Zhengzhou metropolitan area, which was officially approved as China's 10thnational-level metropolitan area in the autumn of 2023. Recently, Zhengzhou's integration with Kaifeng is advancing further, while its integration with Xuchang is gaining momentum. As the industrial landscape expands, eight major industrial belts dominate the heart of Central China. In the eastern region, the Zhengzhou-Kaifeng automotive belt has become a trillion-yuan industrial cluster. In the west, a dynamic innovation corridor has been formed where the Zhengzhou-Luoyang new materials belt and Luoyang-Pingdingshan high-end equipment belt meet. The southern zone is home to synergistic collaboration between the Xuchang-Zhengzhou precision manufacturing and Zhengzhou-Luohe modern food belts. Meanwhile, the North's Zhengzhou-Xinxiang high-tech and Zhengzhou-Jiaozuo intelligent manufacturing belts are gearing up for significant advancements. Gongyi's aluminum alloy body panels become the backbone of Yutong's new energy buses, while MIXUE Ice Cream & Tea grows from a local store to a global brand. Zhengzhou's evolution echoes from the ancient camel bells of the Silk Road to the modern whistles of China-Europe freight trains, and from its thriving logistics hub to the dynamic rise of cross-border e-commerce. In 2024, Zhengzhou's cross-border e-commerce transactions reached 145.88 billion yuan, reflecting a 15.7% year-on-year increase and solidifying its position as the leading city in central China.
