On March 10, Wu Guiying, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, inspected the work concerning the integration of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan cities. She underscored the need to thoroughly study and implement President Xi Jinping's important discourse on regional coordinated development and the spirit of his important speeches and instructions made during his inspection tours in Hunan. It is necessary to conscientiously implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee and the work arrangements of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee. Noting that 2025 marks the final year of China's 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) and serves as the preparatory year of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), Wu stressed the need to build a metropolitan area with the concept of "one city" at its core and to create growth poles. These efforts will facilitate greater progress in the integration of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan cities.

Secretary Wu Guiying and her entourage visited several places in Changsha along the boundary of Changsha, Zhuzhou and Xiangtan cities.

She stressed that Changsha should firmly shoulder the political responsibility of "achieving greater results", adopt a holistic approach, highlight the two key words of "urbanization" and "high quality", and push forward more practical results in implementing key tasks concerning the integrated development of the three cities.

It is important to work together, continue to set up special work teams and implement project-oriented and list-based management, and ensure effective implementation of 126 important cooperation projects and 14 cooperation agreements among the three cities in 2025.

The urban integration process should be sped up, with a focus on the construction of Xiangjiang Science Town and Changsha Olympic Sports Center. All-out efforts should be made to build urban trunk roads, rail transit projects, and other major projects connecting the three cities, thereby accelerating the formation of a commuter circle, an industrial circle, and a living circle.

It is necessary to jointly protect the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan ecological 'green heart' area, optimize its top-level design, continue to promote ecological protection and restoration, and fully cooperate with the provincial authorities to create a national demonstration zone for green transition.
