In 2024, China's gross ocean economy surpassed 10 trillion yuan for the first time, accounting for 7.8% of the country's total GDP. In the first quarter of this year, China's gross ocean product reached 2.5 trillion yuan, up 5.7% year-on-year, with the blue economy emerging as a major engine of economic growth.
Emerging marine industries continue to show positive trends across multiple dimensions. The marine pharmaceuticals and bioproducts sector has seen notable breakthroughs. The immunomodulatory anti-tumor marine drug BG136, developed by the Marine Biomedical Research Institute of Qingdao, has entered Phase II clinical trials. Empowered by technological innovation, China's offshore engineering equipment manufacturing industry has witnessed robust growth. In Q1, the contract value for newly received, delivered, and outstanding offshore engineering orders increased by 57.1%, 114.3%, and 24.2% year-on-year respectively. China's independently developed mega self-propelled trailing suction hopper dredger "Tong Jun" has entered a critical construction phase. With a hopper capacity of 38,000 cubic meters and an advanced intelligent dredging system, the vessel represents a breakthrough in overcoming multiple technical challenges.
Key national marine projects are progressing steadily. The construction of the offshore platform for Phase I of the Bohai Sea's billion-ton Kenli 10-2 oilfield has been successfully completed. Meanwhile, Guangxi's first offshore wind power project, the Fangchenggang Offshore Wind Power Demonstration Project Site A, has achieved full-capacity grid-connected power generation, driving the transition to unmanned and intelligent operation and maintenance.
On the same day, China's polar icebreaker "Xuelong 2" hosted a public open day. Departing in November 2024, the vessel completed a 208-day mission, setting a new record for the longest single-ship expedition duration in China's polar research history. The expedition deepened international cooperation and provided scientific support for Antarctic governance.
Coastal regions are actively building themselves into leading marine economy provinces. Hainan Province has planned to vigorously develop emerging industries such as deep-sea technology and intelligent marine equipment manufacturing, aiming to build a "Marine Hainan" within a decade. 6月8日是第17个世界海洋日和第18个全国海洋宣传日。2024年，我国海洋经济总量首次突破10万亿元，占国内生产总值比重达7.8％。今年一季度，海洋生产总值2.5万亿元，同比增长5.7％，蓝色新动能成为经济发展重要推动力。
海洋新兴产业多维向好。海洋药物和生物制品业成果显著，青岛海洋生物医药研究院的免疫抗肿瘤海洋一类新药BG136已启动临床二期试验。科技赋能下，海洋工程装备制造业蓬勃发展，一季度我国新承接、交付、手持海工订单金额同比分别增长57.1％、114.3％、24.2％。我国自主研发的超大型自航耙吸挖泥船“通浚”轮建造进入关键阶段，其舱容38000立方米，配备先进智能疏浚系统，攻克多项技术难题。
海洋重大项目稳步推进。渤海亿吨级油田垦利10－2油田开发项目（一期）海上平台陆地建造全面收官；广西首个海上风电项目防城港海上风电示范项目A场址已全容量并网发电，推动运维向无人化、智能化转变。
当日，“雪龙2”号极地科考破冰船同期开展公众开放日。该船于2024年11月出发，历时208天创我国极地考察单船任务时长纪录，深化国际合作，提供南极治理科学支撑。
各地积极推进海洋强省建设。海南提出大力发展深海科技、海洋智能装备制造等新兴产业，力争10年再造一个“海上海南”，通过陆海统筹、资源融通，持续释放海洋经济潜力。
