On the morning of May 31st, the first Cross-Strait Folk Culture and Sports Exchange and 2025 Dragon Boat Festival Performance was held grandly on Pinqing Lake in Shanwei, featuring a spectacular offshore parade of dragon boats. Nearly 500 compatriots from Taiwan, together with tourists from across the mainland, joined the people of Shanwei in celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival. A total of 31 dragon boat teams from both sides of the Strait participated in the waterborne performance.
In his speech, Li Sheng-feng, vice chairman of the New Party, said, "Both sides of the Strait celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, eat zongzi, hang mugwort, wear scented sachets, drink noon-time water, pay tribute to Qu Yuan, worship Mazu, and paddle dragon boats. We share the same culture and customs. Taiwan and the mainland are both parts of one China, and both sides are Chinese. Let us paddle the Chinese dragon boat together andusher in a new era of national glory!"
Liu, a student from Taiwan, felt the fresh breeze from Pinqing Lake and said, "On this special day, I can truly feel the emotional bond rooted in our shared cultural heritage. In Taiwan, We also eat zongzi, hang sachets, and race dragonboats. This cultural connection is truly touching. May we carry forward the dragon boat spirit, sticking together in times of adversity and moving forward hand in hand."
"Shanwei is the place to see dragon boating at sea. That's no exaggeration," said Mr. Zhang, captain of the Hualien Youth Elite Team from Taipei, after the performance. "I've been paddling for years, but this is my first time racing on the sea. It's truly challenging. We had to adapt to the vast differences between river and ocean, including the waves, the wind, the visuals, and the technical aspects. But only by paddling in the sea can you fully experience the thrill of battling wind and waves, cutting through the tides."

划起两岸同心舟
5月31日上午，首届海峡两岸民俗文体汇·乙巳端午汕尾品清湖海上龙舟汇演在汕尾市隆重举行。近500名台湾同胞和大陆各地慕名而来的游客与汕尾人民一起欢度端午佳节，来自海峡两岸的31支龙舟队参与海上龙舟汇演。
新党副主席李胜峰在致辞中指出：“两岸都过端午、吃粽子、挂艾草、戴香包、饮午时水、祭屈原、拜妈祖、划龙舟，同文同俗。台湾和大陆同属一个中国，两岸都是中国人。两岸一起划起中华龙舟，再创民族的辉煌！”
来自台湾的刘同学沐浴在品清湖清爽的海风中，“在今天这样的一个特殊节日，我更能感受到两岸文化血脉相通的天然情感纽带。在台湾，我们也会吃粽子，挂香包，赛龙舟，这份文化共通，令人感动。愿我们在龙舟精神里同舟共济，携手同行。”
“海上龙舟看汕尾，此言不虚。”刚刚参加完汇演的台北花莲青年菁英队队长张先生激动地告诉记者，“我划龙舟好多年了，但在海上划龙舟还是第一次。真的不易，我们要克服河与海的巨大差别，波浪、风力、视觉、技术特点都大为不同。但也只有在海里划龙舟，才能深刻体会到与风浪搏击、劈波斩浪的极大乐趣。”
