Cantonese opera "Samsui Women" and the song and dance theatre "Awakening Lion" are soon to appear at the 14th China Art Festival, vying for the Wenhua Award. As one of the performances in the GBA Cultural Week of the 24th China Shanghai International Arts Festival, the acrobatic theater "Platform" will hit the stage in Shanghai this month. Through the platform of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Culture and Arts Festival, these locally created artistic works from Guangdong are stepping onto wider domestic and international stages.

Guangdong Cantonese Opera Theatre's original Cantonese opera "Samsui Women" has been selected as a showcase production for the 5th GBA Culture and Arts Festival. As China's first stage production portraying the history of Chinese women laborers in a collective narrative, the opera has already "gone abroad" twice, performing in Singapore and bringing to life the spirit of the "Samsui Women."

As a lead performer in this opera, the Cantonese opera luminary Zeng Xiaomin believes that the GBA Culture and Arts Festival fully leverages the regional and cultural advantages of the GBA, becoming a grand opera event that brings together top productions across the nation and fosters north-south exchanges."Through such deep cross-region and cross-genre exchanges, we not only 'bring in' outstanding works to enrich the local artistic ecology, but also promote Cantonese opera and other Lingnan opera forms to 'go global,'" She said.

Last October, as one of the major performances of the 4th GBA Culture and Arts Festival, the song and dance theatre "Awakening Lion" premiered in Hong Kong. With its distinctive artistry and rich cultural connotation, it attracted many Hong Kong citizens to attend. Through the platform of the GBA Culture and Arts Festival, "Awakening Lion" became more "visible" to a broader audience.

大湾区文化艺术节，让广东本土创作走向更广阔舞台

粤剧《红头巾》、舞剧《醒·狮》即将亮相第十四届中国艺术节，竞逐文华奖；作为第二十四届中国上海国际艺术节“粤港澳大湾区文化周”参演剧目之一，杂技剧场《站台》将于本月登陆上海滩舞台……一部部广东本土创作的文艺作品，借由粤港澳大湾区文化艺术节（以下简称“大湾区文化艺术节”）的平台，走向更广阔的国内、国际舞台。

由广东粤剧院创演的粤剧《红头巾》，入选第五届大湾区文化艺术节精品剧目。作为国内首部华人女性群体劳工史舞台作品，该剧两度“出海”，远赴新加坡演出，演绎“红头巾”的精神。

作为上述粤剧作品的主演，粤剧名家曾小敏认为，大湾区文化艺术节充分发挥了粤港澳大湾区的区位与文化优势，真正成为汇聚全国精品、促进南北交流的戏曲盛事：“通过此类跨地域、跨剧种的深度交流，我们既‘引进来’优秀剧目丰富本地文艺生态，也推动粤剧等岭南戏曲‘走出去’。”

去年10月，作为第四届大湾区文化艺术节的重要展演剧目，舞剧《醒·狮》首次在香港亮相。该舞剧凭借其别具一格的艺术吸引力与丰富的文化内涵，吸引了众多香港市民前来观赏。通过大湾区文化艺术节这一平台，舞剧《醒·狮》被更多观众所“看见”。
