In the tech industry, Huawei's HarmonyOS is challenging the traditional PC operating system market with its unique stance. This shift not only reduces Huawei's dependence on Windows but is also a significant step towards technological independence for Huawei. The open-source nature of HarmonyOS allows developers to freely modify and customize, which is expected to attract developers and users to jointly promote technological development.
Unlike Windows, HarmonyOS has been built with security at its core from the outset, adopting a unique microkernel architecture that reduces the attack surface. This emphasis on security could be a major selling point for users who are increasingly concerned about online data security. At the same time, HarmonyOS offers a stylish and intuitive interface, aimed at providing a seamless user experience across multiple devices.
In terms of performance, HarmonyOS is optimized for efficiency, providing a fast response experience even on low-end hardware. One of the most exciting features of HarmonyOS is its support for cross-platform functionality, allowing users to seamlessly share files, applications, and data across multiple devices.
Huawei aims to create a collaborative ecosystem covering multiple devices and promote the development of industrial Internet of Things through HarmonyOS. This strategy could shake up the PC market, bringing users a simple, flexible, and convenient experience, and may also force other operating system providers to offer more innovative services to attract users. The rise of HarmonyOS is not only a microcosm of China's independent innovation in technology but also a sign that China's competitiveness in the high-tech field is continuously strengthening.

a necessary move to shake off Microsoft's surveillance.

@mijmijrm that great but many countries banned Huwai you can't get in your country sad

After learning about Gates and his vaccine obsession I don’t trust windows AT ALL

@pragya2661 works fine in my country, but it is not an EU country

@aleksandarbabic766so stay with windows then.....I trust China much more than windows !!
Windows!!

@aleksandarbabic766 What the Chinese can do to you? Meanwhile, the CIA.....
@far_centrist
@aleksandarbabic766 unlike Microsoft, they don't keylog what you type, they don't screenshot your screen every few moments. No forced ads and certainly no BS. It's not a privacy-centered, sure, but it's still better. Also the argument that "Huawei did it too" isn't very smart. We now have alternatives, and that's a good thing.

And who do Microsoft spy for ?

As someone who replaced Microsoft Windows and Office with linux and open software to replace MS Office, it’s only a matter of time for China to also install their own OS and application software

linux is better, using manjaro Arch Linux
Arch Linux

@lanun7699 i tried so many over the decades. i like mx linux and puppy. but i still need windoze' volume normalisation function. using a very powerful audio app on linux but needs manual adjustments. still not the same as windoze' default enhancement. the graphics driver and resolution settings on legacy pc are also not very good on linux. all else is good/better otherwise. any suggestions?

HarmonyOS can overtake LINUX quickly because it feels like Windows
@MnemonicCarrier
@totzinfo I'm not so sure HarmonyOS will overtake Linux. It will be very difficult for HarmonyOS to gain traction - any new OS would find it difficult to gain traction. You need development tools, documentation, applications etc... Linux also has a huge advantage - it's free and open source.

@alsetalokin88 That was 30 years ago, in Trinidad and Tobago, The Caribbean.
We used at the time, Red Hat Linux and open source Star Office, which i think has been phased out, but there many replacement Office packages available.
Fairly simple to set up, and that was 30 years ago

@MnemonicCarrier I think that China will get it right, They had set a vision to replace Microsoft 15 years ago, and are getting there, just as they have been advancing with semi conductors

@alsetalokin88 I used Red hat Linux and that was 30 years ago. for the Office applications i used StAR OFFice, which i think has been phased out now. I have long since retired, an antique 82 year old now, but i used very young persons 20-21 years old
