From August 26th to 29th, the "Exploring GBA through Comics" field trip and exchange event among comic and animation artists from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) was launched in Guangzhou, Foshan, and Shenzhen. Renowned artists including Lee Chi-ching and Jin Cheng used comics to capture the essence of the GBA. They visited sites such as Foshan's Wing Chun martial arts, Shiwan ceramics, unmanned aerial vehicles, and humanoid robots, turning Lingnan culture and cutting-edge technology in the GBA into vivid comic works full of storytelling.

At the Ip Man Memorial Hall in Foshan, Lee Chi-ching, who has been drawing martial arts characters for over 20 years, tried Wing Chun for the first time. He respectfully learned to practice on the wooden dummy from Dong Chonghua, the inheritor of Wing Chun, and captured the essence of the practice in his sketches. He said, "I grew up with martial arts, but it was only here that I truly felt the force. Every wooden dummy, every move carries its own warmth."

In Shiwan Town, Foshan, the artists visited the workspace of Fan Anqi, a Chinese master of arts and crafts and ceramic artist, starting a cross-disciplinary dialogue between comics and ceramics. Li Weiwen, a painter from Guangzhou, was captivated by the ceramic figurines of classical beauties and quickly sketched lifelike portraits onto paper.

At Guangzhou EHang Intelligent Technology, a Chinese drone maker, comic artist Zhao Jianping marveled at the futuristic unmanned aerial vehicles on display, "In the past two days we saw history and tradition; today we are seeing the future." The artists also visited humanoid robots in Shenzhen, whose diverse applications inspired new creative ideas.

A representative of the Yangcheng Evening News Group, the organizer, said that following the event, a themed exhibition of "Exploring GBA through Comics" will be held in Guangzhou and Hong Kong around October.
