You put in the effort during the performance, but afterwards, you might feel out of breath; it takes hard work behind the scenes to achieve success in front of the audience!

On the stage of life, everyone is the protagonist of their own story, and doctors are the dancers who gracefully perform at the brink of life and death; they are well aware of the adage that "one minute on stage is the result of ten years of hard work off stage"; every precise diagnosis and every successful operation are the outcomes of countless hours of study and practice, the crystallization of sweat and wisdom.

The phrase “putting in effort on the operating table, taking long breaths off it” is particularly fitting for doctors; during surgeries, they must be fully concentrated, and every minor action is crucial to the patient’s life. After the surgery is over, and their tense nerves are relaxed, the exhaustion and pressure surge in, making them feel like they need to take long breaths. However, it is precisely this selfless dedication that has earned doctors the title of protectors in the hearts of their patients.

However, the life of a doctor is not just about the tension and excitement on the operating table; they also need to interact with people and handle complex interpersonal relationships in their daily lives. What sets doctors apart from other professions is that they must maintain appropriate boundaries in their social interactions. This not only respects the patient's privacy but also upholds the doctor's professional ethics. As the ancient saying goes, "The friendship of a gentleman is as simple as water," the relationship between doctors and patients should also be light and warm, allowing both parties to find healing in a comfortable environment.

“A thousand words spoken in haste can cause more harm than good,” this saying serves as both a warning and a motivator for doctors. Every day, doctors need to communicate with numerous patients, explaining their conditions, calming their emotions, and conveying treatment plans. However, excessive verbal output not only consumes doctors’ energy but may also have adverse effects on their physical and mental health. Therefore, doctors must learn to strike a balance between communication and silence, ensuring that patients feel cared for and supported while also maintaining their own inner peace and strength.

When it comes to the work intensity and characteristics of doctors, it can truly be described as "life and death hang in the balance, so one must not be perpetually drunk." Doctors' working hours are often irregular, and it is common for them to work overtime and stay up late. Under such high-pressure circumstances, doctors must maintain a high level of self-discipline and a clear mind. They cannot simply go sightseeing or relax as they please, as every decision and action they take can potentially affect the lives of their patients.

In traditional Chinese medicine, "jing qi shen" is emphasized, and it is believed that in order to live a long and healthy life, one must maintain abundant vitality, a full spirit, and robust strength. For doctors, this is especially crucial. The diagnostic process in traditional Chinese medicine relies on a combination of instinctual perception, mental acuity, and physical stamina, requiring doctors to make precise judgments in a split second. Behind this ability to make judgments lies years of learning and practice, a deep understanding of traditional Chinese medical theories, and a keen insight into patients' conditions.

Through tranquility, one can cultivate one's mind and spirit; even amidst the hustle and bustle of work, doctors need to find their own moments of peace—whether it's a cup of tea, a book on medicine, a period of meditation, or a walk—these seemingly simple activities can nourish their minds and relax their spirits. Only in this way can they once again display their masterful medical skills and unwavering beliefs during their next "minute on stage".

Let me share a true story with you. There was an old Chinese doctor who was renowned for his exceptional medical skills. However, few people knew that in addition to seeing patients every day, he would also take time to practice calligraphy, enjoy tea, and read books. He said, "Calligraphy helps me stay calm, drinking tea nourishes my spirit, and reading enriches my knowledge." It was this passion for life and respect for his profession that enabled the old doctor to continue advancing and growing in his medical career.

In summary, being a doctor is both a noble and demanding profession; they dedicate their youth and sweat to safeguard the health and tranquility of every individual's life. Let us show our respect and understanding towards every doctor, as their every effort and sacrifice are aimed at making our world a better place.
