AsianFin -- RayNeo has announced a strategic partnership with Ant Group, making its RayNeo X3 Pro the world’s first AI glasses to support Alipay Tap devices, enabling users to complete payments entirely on the glasses themselves.
Plans are also underway to introduce overseas payment functionality through Ant International’s Alipay+ global wallet ecosystem.
The AI glasses industry is at a pivotal stage, transitioning from proof-of-concept devices to large-scale consumer adoption. Payment integration represents one of the most frequent and practical scenarios in digital life, potentially transforming smart glasses from niche gadgets into intelligent, everyday terminals seamlessly embedded in consumers’ routines.
Currently, some AI glasses support Alipay QR code payments, but these processes are cumbersome. Users must activate a voice command, display a QR code, and verbally confirm the amount, all while maintaining a smartphone connection. Such multi-step procedures are often inconvenient, particularly for introverted users.
RayNeo’s solution streamlines this process. The X3 Pro allows “pay with just a glance,” completing the transaction independently of a smartphone. When paired with an Alipay Tap-enabled device, users simply press a shortcut button on the glasses’ temple, wait for the device to scan the blue ring, and verbally confirm payment. There’s no need to activate a voice assistant or announce the payment amount aloud.
Security, however, remains a critical concern. RayNeo and Ant Group have developed a full-stack, professional-grade risk control system for the glasses. Payments are verified through voiceprint recognition, ensuring that only the registered user can authorize transactions. Users can also manage payment limits, disable payment permissions, or unbind devices through the Alipay app. Ant Group has pledged compensation for losses stemming from unauthorized access or theft, providing an added layer of reassurance.
Market data indicates that smart glasses adoption is surging. Counterpoint’s Global Smart Glasses Shipment Tracker reports a 110% year-on-year growth in shipments during the first half of 2025. Projections suggest a compound annual growth rate of over 60% between 2024 and 2029. IDC forecasts that shipments in China alone will reach 2.75 million units in 2025, a 107% increase from the previous year.
Beyond payments, RayNeo and Ant Group are exploring additional application scenarios for AI glasses. Upcoming features include parcel pickup via QR code, QR code-based bike rentals, utility payments, and in-store price comparisons. RayNeo plans to extend payment capabilities beyond the X3 Pro to its V3, V3 Slim, and future product lines, broadening the reach of smart glasses as an independent, intelligent platform.
By integrating payments and expanding service functions, RayNeo is positioning the X3 Pro—and its successor devices—as practical, multifunctional tools in daily life, potentially reshaping how consumers interact with technology and digital services.
