An online post sparked public concern after a directional sign at Jingfeng Center, a mall in Nanjing city, Jiangsu province, was seen stating that "This area only has women's restrooms, family restrooms, and accessible restrooms." The phrase "only women's restroom" triggered speculation about a significant reduction in male restroom access, prompting concerns over potential inconvenience for male visitors.

据扬子晚报6月19日实地探访，景枫中心商场的负一楼、二楼、三楼和四楼均设有男女卫生间。在负一层，女性卫生间入口处张贴着提示：“此处仅有女卫生间，最近的男卫生间距离您50米，请直走。”紧挨着的一侧立牌提示：“如遇排队，前方30m有员工洗手间可使用。”

A reporter from Yangtze Evening Post conducted an on-site investigation and found that the mall's B1 floor, as well as the second, third, and fourth floors, are each equipped with both men's and women's restrooms.

At the B1 floor, signage at the entrance to the women's restroom reads: "This area only has a women's restroom. The nearest men's restroom is 50 meters ahead. Please go straight." Another nearby sign adds: "If there's a queue, there's a staff restroom 30 meters ahead that can be used."

沿着指示牌方向前往，首先会经过设有男女厕位的员工卫生间区域，继续向前，还能看到一处标准配置的男女卫生间。

除了一楼没有设置任何卫生间之外，负一楼、二楼、三楼、四楼的卫生间配置较为齐全，包括一个女卫生间、两个男女卫生间、无障碍卫生间、家庭卫生间和育婴室。此外，一楼另设有一个宠物专用卫生间。

Except for the first floor, which has no public restroom facilities, the restrooms on B1 through to the fourth floor are relatively well-equipped. Each of these floors includes a women's restroom, two gender-neutral restrooms, a family restroom, an accessible restroom, and a baby care room. Additionally, the first floor houses a designated pet restroom.

各楼层女卫生间入口处均张贴着明确的指引标语，内容与负一层相同，标注了最近男厕的位置与距离。部分楼层的女厕附近还设有员工卫生间，用于高峰时段的客流分流。

对女性专用卫生间的设置，有男店员表示，许多顾客习惯认为厕所应是男女皆有，因此当看到仅设女厕时，往往需要再花时间寻找男厕位置。一名女店员则认为，目前周末高峰期女厕排队现象依然普遍，适当增加女性厕位是合理的安排。

Opinions on the setup of dedicated women's restrooms appear to be mixed. A male employee noted that customers often assume restrooms will be available for both genders and are surprised when they have to search further for the men's facilities. A female staff member observed that queues for women's restrooms are still common on weekends, and the added capacity helps alleviate the problem.

消费者舒女士表示：“刚才去的第一个女厕所还在排队，突然就想起来旁边这边还有一个单独的女厕所，还不用排队。使用体验还是挺好的，挺大的。”

针对网络上的质疑，商场方面介绍了此次卫生间改造前后的具体数据。年初曾开展过一次使用情况调研，结果显示：女卫生间17间，厕位总计118个；男卫生间17间，厕位总计136个。女厕位和男厕位比例约为1：1.15，女厕位少于男厕位。

为缓解女卫生间糟糕的排队体验，依据实际情况对卫生间进行了改造。目前对客卫生间情况：女卫生间21间；男卫生间13间，此次改造减少4间；厕位比例约为1.3：1，女厕位多于男厕位。

此外，商场还开放了各楼层的员工卫生间供顾客使用，至少保障3个男卫生间，其中负一楼、二楼均有4个男卫生间。

To reduce waiting times for women, the mall increased the number of women's restrooms to 21 while reducing men's restrooms to 13. This adjusted the overall stall ratio to approximately 1.3:1 in favor of women. To ensure continued convenience for male visitors, all staff restrooms on each floor have been opened to the public.

关于为何不新建厕所而选择改造，商场方面回应称：“因为建筑改造条件所限，排污管道位置无法新增空间，在保障男女卫生间厕位数量合理比例的前提下，所以将负一楼、二至四楼西厕卫生间改为女卫生间。考虑到改后男性顾客寻找卫生间的便捷性，我们将附近员工卫生间开放，作为对客卫生间补充。”

此外，商场工作人员表示：“网上关于‘景枫中心取消男厕所’的说法完全是谣言，最近也收到了大规模网络攻击，还包括大量侮辱性私信、骚扰电话。真诚建议我们绝对听！经过三个月运营，客流高峰期卫生间仍然有排队现象，我们也发现了很多需要改善的地方：卫生间的指引不够清晰、卫生不够完善等等。我们未来也将继续优化。”

Mall representatives also refuted the online rumors, stating: "The claim that 'Jingfeng Center has eliminated men's restrooms' is completely false."

"After three months of operations under the new layout, queues still occur during peak hours," they added. "We have identified several areas in need of improvement, including clearer signage and enhanced sanitation."
