Vietnam's e-commerce retail sales are projected to grow at an annual rate of 20 to 30 percent through 2030, accounting for 20 percent of the country's total retail turnover, Vietnam News Agency reported on Tuesday.
The target has been outlined in a newly approved national e-commerce development master plan by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Under the plan, 60 percent of the country's small and medium-sized enterprises are expected to operate on e-commerce platforms by 2030.
The ministry is targeting an increase in the proportion of adults shopping online to 70 percent, said the report.
The Vietnam E-commerce Association reported that the value of the country's e-commerce market reached 32 billion U.S. dollars in 2024, up 27 percent year-on-year.
