Huaihua is a member of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor "13+2" inter-provincial coordination and cooperation mechanism, and the only ASEAN-oriented freight train assembly center in Hunan Province. In recent years, Huaihua has leveraged its advantageous geographical location to further strengthen the development of the Huaihua International Land Port. Huaihua has opened seven international logistics channels linking to the China-Laos, China-Vietnam, China-Myanmar and other railways. More and more fruits from Southeast Asia are collected in Huaihua by railway and then distributed to other regions. A "Southeast Asian fruits express" is taking shape.

According to statistics, the Huaihua International Land Port operated 210 shipping containers on special cold-chain trains by the end of 2024, mainly delivering such fruits as bananas, fresh durian, and longan from Southeast Asia.

Relying on the logistics channel to empower local development, the Huaihua International Land Port will strive to improve local logistics, sales, and other systems, said a spokesperson of the Hunan Huaihua International Land Port Development Co., Ltd. The land port will make more contributions to industrial agglomeration and help Huaihua to build a cold chain products collection and distribution center in the southwest parts of Hunan.
