On May 23rd, the first phase of the 220 kV distribution equipment renovation project for the 500 kV Shanghe substation located in Huai'an, Jiangsu was successfully completed and put into operation.

It is understood that this project is a key project of State Grid Corporation of China for peak summer season, mainly involving the overall renovation of the 220 kV distribution equipment area of the 500 kV Shanghe substation. In response to the difficulties of narrow construction sites, multiple participating units, and high construction difficulty, State Grid Huai'an Power Supply Company organized various participating units to make precise arrangements in advance, coordinate load transfer, material supply, construction force and other planning arrangements, and form a professional tackling team. With the strong coordination and cooperation of relevant production departments, the first phase of operation was completed 20 days ahead of schedule.

It is reported that the first phase of the project has completed the operation of 5 outgoing lines, mainly providing reliable power guarantee for the first salt cavern energy storage project in Huai'an - Jiangsu Guoxin Su Salt Storage Power Generation Co., Ltd. Huai'an Salt Cavern Compressed Air Energy Storage Power Generation Project. The second phase of the 7-circuit outgoing line plan will be launched and put into operation on May 30th. At that time, it will effectively solve the problem of voltage rise exceeding the limit caused by large-scale power generation of new energy during the summer and winter load periods. It will significantly improve the new energy consumption capacity in southern Huai'an and Baoying areas, and provide key support for the large-scale development of regional clean energy.
